Contrary to what my signature suggests I actually dread the prospect of being an overpaid Excel slave doing extremely boring grunt work (even though that's probably exactly where I'll end up after finding out the nice consulting jobs only go to STEMS graduates now ). And the next time someone who studied finance, accounting or (God forbid) business administration is introduced as an economist I'm going to crack some skulls. Especially the overly ambitious Bedrijfskunde manchilds who've dreamt of being an Unilever trainee since they were 5 and became scrum master at age 7 are the worst. I will do some finance/accounting electives in my free space next year though, you never know when you need it (and easy high grades lol, will probably need to compensate for the inevitable lower grades I'm going to get for the 2 econometrics electives).

Anyway, the person being an 50-something white male with a business degree and a relatively high income suggests a Republican who probably (reluctantly) voted for Trump too. And Italian Americans did swing heavily towards Trump as far as I know. But most management consultants are suprisingly progressive (like those upper middle-class urban college graduates), politically they're probably closer to lawyers or tech workers than to the bankers or PE/hedge fund employees (who're more conservative). So I'm going to say this person probably was a Republican in the past but became more disillusioned with the GOP in the 2000s and finally voted for Obama in 2008. He might have voted Romney in 2012 but in 2016 he definitely voted for Clinton and he probably won't vote for the GOP in the forseeable future.
