why would I have heard anything out of Uruguay? And ditto Belgium; I don't follow European politics much, especially Belgian.

a  - history of Uruguay; party system; historic left-wing victory in last elections
b - language/political situation; Iraq War; only other liberal PM in a western country apart from that !*?& Fogh Rasmussen and Paul Martin, and it's a liberal party more in the British-Canadian than the Scandinavian-Dutch vein.

The Uruguayan-know very little about Uruguayan history (but I do know why it is called the Oriental Republic Smiley), had no idea he won an election last year and that it was historic Tongue

The Belgian guy-i know a reasonable amount about the language situation, I didnt hear anything about the Belgian position on the war (if they were for it, i'm surprised; if against, just another European country opposed to it), and there are other lefties, but what should his political persuasion have to do with my knowledge of him? Plus his name is really hard to remember Smiley

Maybe ignorace with the Belgian guy, but I doubt most people would know who the Uruguayan guy is.

Most people. We're members of a forum concerned mostly with the politics of a faraway country, we're not supposed to be like most people. Smiley

I only have 3 targets left of people I want gone because I really dislike them, not because they are not interesting. Verhofstadt is one. Guess the other 2.
