I announce I will be running for reelection in June.
What I have done=) A social progressive agenda- I have sponsored and signed the abolition of Life Imprisonment.
- I have sponsored and signed stricter regulations of brothel, protecting much more “Sex worker”.
- I have sponsored and signed an important bill about Immigration.
1) Illegal immigration: Right now, illegal immigrants cannot be denounced by anonymous report, cannot be arrested close to schools allowing immigrants’ child to go to school without the risk of being arrested. Illegal immigrants cannot be arrested if they have a legal job. And finally, they have the right to go to hospital, to
2) Legal Immigration: funds have been granted for helping Legal Immigrants to learn English. Additional funds have been granted, promoting tolerance,… Legal Immigrants, if they live in Atlasia for at least 2 years, can now vote for the Midwest local elections.
- I have sponsored and voted bills forcing towns to have at least 10% of Subzidized housing. Indeed, it’s important to fight against “rich ghetto” if we want to maintain Midwest’s unity. If people live totally in different worlds, how can they believe the other social classes are the same citizens than them?
- I will soon sign a progressive gay bill, enacting Hate Crime laws, fighting againstteenager’s suicide because of the problems they could encounter because of their homosexuality (homophobia you know).
=) A pro worker agenda-After having passed and sponsored “Anti right-to-work amendment” as Archduke, as Governor my first bill signed has been to force the Midwest government to distribute contract for business where employees are represented by a union or for worker-owned and managed co-operative businesses.
- I have sponsored a bill fining businesses refusing to allow their workers to join a union. Joining a union is a worker’s right!
-I have signed a bill promoting the development of worker-owned and managed co-operative businesses.
-According to the federal law:
I have sponsored and signed a bill raising the number of paid days at 225, and they can use these paid days until the age of 8, instead the age of 5.
=) A pro job agenda:- I have sponsored and signed a bill cutting the Midwest Corporate tax by 20%. I strongly believe companies must be taxed. But the problem is that the Midwest is the only region which has a local Corporate tax. The Midwest definitely needs to harmoniz itself with the other regions. I strongly encourage the Federal Government to have a Corporate Tax.
- I have sponsored this bill that is currently debating in the Alping (and that will probably pass)
I strongly believe the Midwest Government should help the employment of young people. Indeed, unemployment is extremely high in this category. This bill would help a lot of “unskilled” young people to get a job. And that would help them in the future to get a job because they would get experience. For this bill, I have definitely inspirated from the Jospin Government, whose their bill about youth unemployment had proven to be successful.
Other things=) I have sponsored this bill that will be debated:
=) The Midwest is currently balanced and has an important budget surplus, allowing the Midwest to build High Speed Rail.
=) I have granted additional funds for schools suffering from a poor academic performance.
What I plan to do if I’m reelected:Fortunately, I have successfully passed most of the bills I wanted them to be enacted, thanks to bipartisanship in the Alping! But I have some new ideas:
- I recognize that I haven’t been done a lot for environment. If elected, I will try to pass environment friendly bills. The Midwest is by far the region that spends the most for environement purposes. And I’m proud of that. But I believe these funds are spent in a bad way. I will try to improve that. I have written a bill banning the construction of new power plants in the Midwest. I will try to do other things for Environment.
- I have seen that the TNF’s single payer amendment has been defeated in the senate recently. I’m sure the Atlasian senate will finally pass single payer. But if they fail to do that, I will try to pass Single payer in the Midwest.
- I have created new offices and modernized the Midwest institutions, I will probably make some constitutional reforms in the future.
- I know I have crazy views about alcohol and drugs, and everyone knows that. I don’t plan to advocated for these crazy views, because I know I’m crazy and I’m the only person to have these views in this forum well known for his drunkard activists
. What I will try will be to help people who are alcoholic,… I still don’t know how, but I will try to do that by informing myself about these issues. (And don’t worry, I won’t try to pass Prohibition or something like that
)
