The double standard with the forum's built-in censorship toward the c word and the comparatively mild profanity that it does censor is a big part of why I can't take the whole thing seriously. And that Inks tolerated those stupid "letter three words at a time" threads which were WAY worse than someone simply saying "f**k" without the asterisks.

As long as it's not swear-filtered out, and isn't being used at someone as a personal attack, I don't see a problem with people saying it.  Not that there are many other reasons left to use it, but still.

The swear filter is weird, anyway.  sh**t gets automatically asterisked (but with one too many) and lowercased, f--k gets completely removed (leaving an awkward gap in the text), but c**** is apparently fine?

Actually, there should be many more infractions issued for offensive language, but in all fairness to the moderators, it is not possible for them to police all the postings.

So Clarence, and whoever else, if you don't like the standards, and are unwilling to live up to them, go post on some other board that has no language standards.

In my universe, the c word is worse than the f word, because it is always used as an attack word on one gender. Anyway, just Bowdlerize the infractable words and move on, and everyone will know what you mean, so life is beautiful. It's a win-win
