So more likely than not, BuzzFeed's report was accurate. Team Mueller was just shook from the Cohen details being leaked and needed to activate the flood gates.

Perhaps (also perhaps not though). But also there are people saying things like this which suggest that may be the case:

Reading the “thoughtful” and “mature” reposenes by Pandaguineapig, Del Tachi, and NYC millennial minority it really is a mystery why they like an immature, name calling, troll like Trump.

1.  I voted for Hillary Clinton in 2016

2.  For all the red avatars who have been yelling non-stop "fake news" for 3.5 years, I just want to know what kind of mental gymnastics you have to perform to get over the cognitive dissonance of defending this ostensibly *fake story

So naturally, pittsburghsteel is on here arguing how it actually still means orange man done.

The idea that Buzzfeed's flawed reporting is Trump's ultimate triumph over the "fake news" (which doesn't even fit the real definition of fake news by the way, even in this instance) and should make him President for life or whatever, is absurd. No media outlet that I saw covering the story acted as if it was 100% truth. They added the caveat of it not being fully verified yet. This happens and has happened in the media all the time. Some sources are unreliable or misleading. It doesn't mean that they straight up fabricated a story like Russian troll websites did to spread falsehoods about Hillary Clinton accepting bribes from drug cartels, or whatever. It's more important than ever for the media to properly vet their stories, but one error doesn't equal the fourth estate collapsing and being revealed as a fraudulent conspiracy against the President. I guess that's just how right wing psychology examines things though. It's the same thing with how one MS-13 member committing a crime somehow makes that the case for all Central American immigrants.

This story being inaccurate also doesn't absolve Trump of any other wrongdoings he may have committed. And even then, it doesn't matter, he won't be removed from office under any circumstance, even when Mueller reveals his report...or whatever Barr lets us know about it.

Yeah, this is bad. Red avatars should eat crow and move on.

That said, pretending the story is anything other than a massive anomaly when it comes to Russia-related coverage is ludicrous

It's really hard to believe that this is the best legal counsel the President of the Unites States can get.

Oh, it's not. Not by a light year's reach. It's just Trump responding with his gut attraction to fellow reality stars to fill his Administration. (Kudrow, Guiliani, previously Omarosa, etc.)

Evan McMullin
‏Verified account @Evan_McMullin

Evan McMullin Retweeted Donald J. Trump

I’ve always been fascinated by traitors. They consider themselves highly intelligent, yet fail to understand how likely they are to be caught. When they are, they become men without a home, having betrayed their countrymen and been used by an enemy. So it will be with this one.

https://twitter.com/Evan_McMullin/status/1084111008073949184

The definitive example: Vidkun Quisling, a brilliant man, even thought himself a philosopher. His fall came not from the absurdity of his regime but from the collapse of the Nazi regime that sponsored him. Quisling was a megalomaniac who found his way to what he saw as the Wave of the Future.

For the Red (Commie) side: I think of Matyas Rakosi, who styled himself "Stalin's best Hungarian pupil", who seemed to have followed the lesson plan well right down to the bloody purges. But he was one of those types who squeezes so hard that everybody tries to evade him, and His cruelty and incompetence spurred the Hungarian Revolution of 1956. Had that revolution succeeded there might have been a rope awaiting him upon any return. Rakosi fled to the Soviet Union as his rule got shaky.

Hubristic pride? A juvenile sense of invulnerability?

Remember Caesar: thou art mortal!
