Connecticut. But there's nothing there anyway, so why bother with a trip.

Wow, Muon, congrats on finally visiting our greatest state. What takes you there?

We'll be there for our 30th wedding anniversary. We'll be mostly on Maui (staying in Kapalua), but there will be visits to other islands, too. Of course I'd like to get to all five HI counties. Smiley

Nice, congrats! I'll DM you my recommendations for Maui if you'd like. Smiley

Yes, the mule ride to Kalawao County is operating again after closing earlier this year. You also can hike down in (it's not that tough) and fly out from Kalaupapa to Molokai, thus taking the shortest scheduled flight in the world. So many superlatives to be gained with a visit to Kalawao!

Unless one counts a few multi-hour layovers in O'Hare, one of which turned into an overnight in a nearby hotel due to bad weather, then Illinois. The missus and I have have wanted to go to her old Chicago stomping grounds for some time now.

If one counts those layovers, then--although I've been to Philly, South Jersey, DC, and even Ocean City MD right on its south border--I don't think I've ever actually entered Delaware.

If one counts driving through a state as visiting, West Virginia is the nearest state I haven't been in. If one's asking about visiting, i.e., an intent to visit and not merely an incidental visit, Iowa is the nearest state I've not visited.

That I've never stepped foot in?  Maine.  That I've never stayed the night in (which is how I count if I've truly "visited" a state)?  Vermont, but it's basically tied with New Hampshire.
