I see a lot of rhetoric from both the left and right along the lines of "Trump/Biden is only viable because half of America is stupid, brainwashed, and entitled".

If your candidate loses, will that confirm your negative view of the American public you think?

I think for me, I already have a negative view of large swaths of the American public and the outcome won't necessarily do that. I generally think we have a lot of people who make no effort to even try to be  a good, informed citizen and play contrarian just for the heck of it. I also think too many Americans don't realize just how lucky we are to have this system and be this wealthy as a Country - these people complaining about how life sucks because they're a broke worker yet they just came back from a 2 week vacation to Jamaica and went to dinner at a fancy restaurant yesterday really annoy me.

I have quite a negative view of my own age cohort too - regardless of our politics I find us to be quite illiberal and entitled. Gucci bags and daily Starbucks are not a right. I blame a lot of that on social media, but also young people around me blindly giving hours of their time to social media and just seeing everything they believe.

Honestly, yes. 2016 clearly wasn't enough of a harsh lesson, especially since the Biden campaign looks to be doing everything it can to run the best campaign possible and not fall into the same traps Clinton's campaign did.

Not really either way, no. It's not that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things.

Yes. I'll blame them if they/we win too. It's a pyrrhic victory most of the time anyway

What's cool is I've accepted Trump is going to win. I'll have enough booze and pot to survive this until I'm taken to some sort of work camp

If Biden loses, I’ll blame his campaign for catering too much to the far left

Less so the far left, than the smug Twitter left.

I don’t think Trump is a fascist, but if he turned out to be one I’d at least get to see Jeff Tiedrich get waterboarded.

If Biden actually, straight-up loses? Yes. If the GOP steals the election by fraud or force (the way they tried last time) that's a different and more complex matter.

Well Trump and Biden are viable because both sides are so bad someone might vote for either one of them.

If Trump wins I would blame the electorate but not for the usual reasons. It would be Republicans fault for being brainwashed enough to nominate him a third time and the far left's fault for being so awful that people will vote for Trump to stick it to them.

I can’t deny the Clinton campaign made mistakes, but let’s be real here: The choice in 2016 was abundantly clear. I think it’s easier to blame the electorate for 2016, because Hillary was very clearly at least capable enough to be president. Can you blame the electorate in 2024 when Biden had every opportunity to bow out?

I blame the electorate of 2016 too.

I lost a lot of faith in the sanity and sensibilities of my fellow American, and that will remain true this year with Biden as well, if Americans...well, really the electoral college, chooses him after his disastrous four years, the dustegard for democracy, the indictments and trials, his personality and so on, all compounded from the litany if things that should have been blatantly disqualifying in 2016.
