RULES FOR INTERNAL POLLING

Recently, the subject of internal statewide polling has been broached. The rules for such will be as follows:

1) These polls will not necessarily be accurate (they will most certainly reflect more highly on the polling candidate than normal, and may get other elements wrong, as well).

2) These polls will be private, but will have a 25% of leaking on the gameplay thread.

3) You may commission one poll per IRL week per 5% you have in the polls currently.

Lisa Murkowski Debate Answers

Quote
You must be logged in to read this quote.

I’ll start by thanking our wonderful moderators, Megyn and Tucker, our host, The University of Texas, and all of you here in person or watching from your homes tonight. These debates have been an important part in our nominating process. They help parse out what we stand for, and let us explain why you should support us. Our campaign is one for the people, not for special interests that run rampant in Washington. People in Iowa, New Hampshire, Texas, and Alaska have all expressed the desire for the same thing. We want, and deserve, a President who will represent the average American, one that fights for fewer regulations to promote economic growth, one that values personal liberty, and pushes us to a place of energy independence, keeping prices low for all of us. That’s what this campaign is about.

Quote
You must be logged in to read this quote.

Coming from a state that values individual freedom, much like Texas, I’ve gotten this question a few times. While it is true that much of my campaign is about liberty and a more hands off government, I believe the Republican Party is the best vessel for these values. That is why, even when I won an independent, write-in campaign, I still caucus with, and run as a Republican. I can only speak for myself, but my plans are to run for, and win, the Republican nomination. If I win, and the libertarian party chooses to endorse me, then I will accept and thank them, but remain on the ballot as a Republican. The only way I could see running as an independent or third party candidate is if I fear the Republican nominee will lose the general election or be a poor representative for the people of this country. I currently do not have that fear of anyone on this stage.  I just happen to believe that this campaign’s message is the strongest for the American people.

Quote

I want to again thank everyone who had a role in tonight’s debate, my fellow candidates, the moderators, and the University of Texas for hosting us. The American public deserves someone who will stand up for their interests and help solve their concerns. This is why I have opposed extremism by either party, as it hurts our country. I support your right to own a gun, serve in the armed forces regardless of your identity, and have worked to stabilize the healthcare markets, rather than upend one sixth of our economy. Too many politicians want to limit your freedoms and choices by enacting restrictive policies, and that is not what I stand for, nor what the Republican Party should stand for. America faces a big decision on what we believe is right for the future, and this campaign is built on a vision of choice, freedom, and independence, much like our nation. Thank you!

Phil Scott for President

Phil Scott Schedule for August

July
August 1-10: Governor Duties/Rest
August 11: Major Rally with Charlie Baker in Manchester New Hampshire
August 12: Town Hall with Bill Weld in Boston Massachusetts
August 13-17: Barnstorm New Hampshire, open campaign offices in Fargo and Gran Forks
August 18: Door knock in Sioux City Iowa
August 19-24: Governor Duties/Rest
August 25: Town Hall with Representative Eddie Edwards in Portsmouth
August 26: Speak at Politics & Eggs at St Anselms
August 27: Town Hall in Keene with Elise Stefanik: Speak to the New Hampshire Farm Bureau
August 28-30: Tour the Atlantic Coast of South Carolina
August 31: Major Rally in Norfolk with Representative Scott Taylor

Phil Scott Remarks Town Hall in Boston

Audience Town Hall Question: Hello Governor, my name is Hank, and I work in a local small business. I believe in low taxes, and small government. What can you say to some voters who feel you're too liberal for the Republican Party?

Governor Weld:
Well-

Governor Scott:
Bill if you don't mind. I agree Hank. Vermont, where I serve as Governor is a state where we value individualism, we value the common man, and we don't think that government should be in the way of the future and the drive of an individual like you and me. We don't need someone in government to tell us what our future is, I certainly didn't. But I still believe that government serves a purpose, we need able social services to care for the most vulnerable, I believe what we do need is not an unresponsive, overstuffed government. But a transparent, responsive, trustworthy and able government. I believe people get frustrated when they feel government doesn't listen to them. I want to change that.

When it comes to taxes I agree, I had to veto several tax increases as Governor. I don't like the veto, but after 8 years of a state administration which made tax increases state policy, I thought the proposals were wrong for my state.  I still think that.

When it comes to being a liberal, as some as said. Well, that's just a desperate attack to distract from the real issues facing this country. I am socially more moderate, I don't believe that government should be in the lives of everyday people, that's how we do it in Vermont, I think many Americans agree. But ultimately, I believe that compromise is not a dirty word. We have entire legions of Republicans who reject compromise and management in favor of grandstanding and politics. I think we can do better, we have to start by bridging the partisan divide to get things done for ordinary people. We have to change Washington.

Lisa Murkowski August Schedule

August 1-2: Senate in session

August 3-6: Rallies in Council Bluffs and Sioux City, Iowa on the impact of trade on the region, Murkowski speaks with local leaders on balancing economical, energy, and environmental concerns

August 7-9: Rallies in Des Moines and Ames, Iowa on how the area has been insulated from economic downturn

"This part of Iowa has lead the way to recovery since the recession. With the anemic economic growth and tenuous situation, the federal government needs to look to localities like yours to help protect us all from another downturn. We must allow for space research grants like the ones that have allowed innovations in Ames, we must push for businesses to keep manufacturing plants here, like in Des Moines, and we must make common sense regulations that don't hinder businesses in our localities."

August 10-12: Rally in Bismarck on being a steward of natural resources with public parks, followed by a tour of Grand Forks Air Force Base, speaking with service members on foreign policy and veteran's issues. Meets with ND Chamber of Commerce, accepting their endorsement.

August 13-17: Return to New Hampshire, with joint rallies with Senator Ayotte in Salem and Derry on the independent spirit of the campaign. After the rallies, the campaign speaks with public health officials in communities impacted by the opioid crisis.

August 18-21: Meeting with South Carolina Chamber of Commerce in Columbia, SC, followed by a rally touting their endorsement and Murkowski's economical plan. Visit to the Shaw Air Force Base in Sumter.

August 22-25: Tour of ranches in Texas, speaking with ranchers on the needs of rural Americans and the need for a hands off federal government.

August 26-31: Campaign returns to Iowa, with stops for rallies in Cedar Rapids, Davenport, and Waterloo, focusing on agricultural issues and cutting regulations. Murkowski speaks at a Republican women's event in Cedar Rapids, meeting with leaders on outreach to women and stabilizing the healthcare markets. Finally, Murkowski speaks with local leaders on biofuel and energy independence.

John Kerry Surrogate Schedules for August 2019

Senator Elizabeth Warren (MA)

Senator Warren will be spending the month of August in New Hampshire again, she will be stumping on Senator Kerry's long record of protecting Consumers and Senior citizens, along with his policies on the environment which will also appeal to younger voters. The Campaign's plan in New Hampshire is to push for high turnout among all groups, but the campaigns appeal is focused to younger voters, and to suburban voters.

Rep. Joe Kennedy III  (MA)

Representative Kennedy will be focusing on the college campuses of New England he will be making stops at Harvard, Yale, Norwich, Boston College, Bowdoin, Brown, and Dartmouth in the month of August. He will also be making a joint appearance with the Senator at Yale where Senator Kerry will be celebrating his graduation from Yale and his spot on Yale's hockey team.

Rep. Steny Hoyer (MD)

Rep. Hoyer will be focused on the D.C. scene in the month of August gauging interest of many Southern Democratic leaders for Senator Kerry's campaign. He will also join Senator Schumer in a series of town halls & meet and greets for the Kerry campaign in New York. He will be the Campaign's face on the Sunday morning talkshows and help expand Senator Kerry's support among those in Washington.

Whip Adam Schiff (CA)

The Whip of the Democrats in the House will be focusing on campaigning in Nevada joining Rep. Steven Horsford in stumping for the Senator in Las Vegas, campaigning primarily on his position on Immigration, but supplementing that with his positions on gun control following the Las Vegas shooting and the environment in this key caucus state.

Leader Tim Ryan (OH)

Leader Ryan will be a key surrogate for Senator Kerry in Iowa, where he is struggling among the rural working class. He will be joining former Governor Tom Vilsack, Former President Bill Clinton, and Rep. Dave Lobesack in a campaign to turn out and flip rural working class white voters from Senator Brown, or Governor Abrams onto the side of Senator Kerry. A good finish in Iowa is crucial to the Kerry campaign as it will give momentum heading towards New Hampshire, South Carolina, and Nevada, and eventually into Super Tuesday. The Campaign has identified it's strength among Suburban College Educated White Voters, but also sees it's weakness among rural White Working Class voters, and this is the primary goal of Leader Ryan to appeal to these voters in Iowa.

Vice President Joe Biden (DE)

Vice President Biden will be traversing the early primary states, he will be focusing heavily on Iowa and South Carolina though as he can make an effect with African American, and white working class voters in both states. He will appear with Senator Kerry in South Carolina, and later on in Iowa. August will be a busy month for Vice President Biden as he will be reaching out to the African American community by meeting with community leaders and providing with Senator Kerry's views on issues such as Social Security and the Environment. He will also be working with other surrogates to tap into the White working class in Iowa with President Clinton, Governor Vilsack, and Congressman Lobesack.

Fmr. Senator Jesse Jackson (DC)
Former Shadow Senator Jesse Jackson is one of Senator Kerry's biggest surrogates in the African American community, he will be planted in South Carolina in the month of August. He will be providing community outreach for Senator Kerry within the African American Community, and appear on many local news, and radio programs in support of the Senator.

Senator Chuck Schumer (NY)

Senator Schumer will be campaigning in New York during the month of August and make a joint appearance with Senator Kerry for Rep. Jefferies endorsement in New York City. He will be focusing on campaigning in upstate New York in preparation for the New York primary on April 10th, he will also be campaigning in Pennsylvania in preparation for the crucial Pennsylvania Primary.

Vice President Al Gore (TN)

Vice President Gore will be focused on campaigning in New Hampshire during the month of August he will be pumping out the campaigns environmental policy, He will be the chairman of the campaign's environmental policy advisory board. He will be focusing on New Hampshire because of the state's liberal history on the issue.

Rep. Cedric Richmond (LA)

Representative Richmond will be focused on South Carolina during the month of August, he will be campaigning on the Senator's record with the African American community, and his value of Christian values that are so useful in the American South.

Rep. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz (FL)

Fmr. DNC Chairwoman Wasserman-Schultz will spend the month of August campaigning in South Carolina attempting to bring many urban voters in Columbia and Charleston onto the side of the Kerry campaign and bring in more of the members of the Democratic establishment especially those from urban and suburban areas which are key to the Senators victory in South Carolina in this upcoming election.

Rep. Hakeem Jefferies (NY)

Rep. Hakeem Jefferies will be spending most of the month in South Carolina building up Kerry's support among African Americans, but Rep. Jefferies will be focusing on the urban areas of Charleston, and Columbia in his effort to help Senator Kerry win the primary, and later White House in this election as he knows a defeat in South Carolina will deeply impact the campaign of Governor Abrams.

Rep. Jim Clyburn (SC)

Former Majority Whip, Congressman Clyburn will be focused on flipping black voters in South Carolina to the side of Senator Kerry. As he is a key Congressman from the state he will be focused on flipping all voters, and his powerful machine will be used to help build Senator Kerry's grassroots base within the state. He will also be working on bringing the leaders of the state party to Kerry's side to ensure victory in this crucial state for the Kerry campaign.

Rep. Terri Sewell (AL)

Another southern, black, democrat to endorse Senator Kerry is Rep. Sewell from Alabama who is going to be with Rep. Jefferies Rep. Clyburn and Jesse Jackson in supporting the Kerry campaign in the state while trying to put up a challenge in the African American community with Governor Abrams. Rep. Sewell will also put up a fight with the female vote as she focuses on convincing White suburbanites to vote for the Senator.

Fmr. Rep and Candidate Beto O'Rourke (TX)

Beto O'Rourke who was once a promising candidate in this election has chosen to endorse Senator Kerry. He will focus on Nevada, where he will be stumping for Senator Kerry on the issue of immigration a crucial one to the Senator and the hispanic community is one where Beto is very popular in Nevada is a state which is up for grabs so, his endorsement will be crucial going forward.

Fmr. President Bill Clinton (AR)

Former President Clinton will be splitting his time between Iowa and South Carolina, he will be focusing mostly on Iowa though as to get the support of many of the rural working class, and eating into Senator Brown's support among the group. In South Carolina, he will focus on convincing suburban white's and African Americans to come out for Senator Kerry in the primary which is crucial for the campaign moving forward.

Mayor Pete (IN)

Mayor Pete will be focusing on getting the support of those in the state of Iowa for the Kerry campaign, he will be focusing on the Senator's support for Agriculture, and driving support among the LGBTQ community for Senator Kerry in the Caucus come February. He will make a brief appearance in California in support of the LGBTQ community for Kerry and work hard to improve the Senator's polling numbers in Iowa.

Rep. Dave Loebsack (IA)

Rep. Loebsack will be focusing on his home state of Iowa, and campaigning in his district hopefully bringing strong support in Cedar Rapids, he will be connecting with younger voters by supporting education, and environmental issues while connecting with an older audience with the Senator's position on Social Security.

Rep. Steven Horsford (NV)

Rep. Horsford will be primarily focused on bringing out the African American vote, but will be working with Rep. O'Rourke to push turnout among Latinos in the state for Kerry. He will be campaigning heavily on Immigration, Social Security, and Legalization of Marijuana.

Fmr. Gov. Tom Vilsack (IA)

The former Governor and SoA is a key surrogate in Iowa he will be making a 99 county tour for the Senator in preparation for the Senator's visit to Iowa in the coming months. Governor Vilsack has a long and storied career in Iowa and is considered one of the foremost minds on Agriculture he is being considered for the role of Secretary of Agriculture for a possible Kerry Presidency.

Theresa Kerry

The wife of Senator Kerry will be taking to the road away from her husband this month by campaigning extensively in the state of South Carolina promoting her husbands plan to build rural school's and his plan to expand rural broadband internet. She will be making several appearances with her husband as well across the nation.

Sen. John Kerry (MA)
Senator Kerry's campaign has been bolstered by a slew of new endorsements and surrogates. He will be campaigning extensively across the nation making a dozen appearances in Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, and Nevada. He will also make a short visit to North Dakota. His campaign is centered around, lower taxes for the middle class, and a new education system that will work for everyone. While he was once a 4th place he has vaulted into a narrow lead and hoping an aggressive early state strategy and solid momentum will help push him over the finish lines in states like Iowa and South Carolina.

What Manfred did part 1
Manfred made a bold but needful trip to Pennsylvania to campaign for Centrist Democrats not really happy with the progressive direction of the Democratic Party.

He campaigned on tax cuts for working people and small businesses and called out the GOP tax cuts  during the Romney a big giveaway to the top 1% and said that the current Republican Party candidates in the race will keep the “Voodoo Economic train” rolling.

He also talked to them about fighting climate change without a sort of major central planning deal.

John Kerry Debate Answers

Opening Statement

To Senator Kerry:
Quote
You must be logged in to read this quote.

The people I am endorsed by are smart, they see the perils of climate change. Mayor Buttigieg and Rep. O'Rourke see the perils, as do President Clinton, Vice President Biden, and Vice President Gore. The leaders of our party in both houses of Congress, in Senator Schumer and Leader Ryan see these problems in Climate Change. The establishment is not against change, the establishment is against change for the worse, I hear all these talking heads, disowning the establishment. President Clinton was apart of the establishment when he was elected in 92'. Vice President Biden was apart of it as well, and he helped give us the biggest expansion of healthcare in nearly 50 years. If you want a future for humanity where our children can breathe clean air, then you support the Green New Deal. The trajectory of our party is one that is pointing up, towards the future because the future is where are children, and their children will prosper with a clean environment because of the Green New Deal.
