John Kerry

"Im running for President as a committed Liberal, defending our policies that have been the centre of our parties values for almost 100 years, I am a uniter I can bring all the reaches of our party together, I have been endorsed by one of the faces of the Progressive movement and one of my deep friends in Elizabeth Warren, as well as touting the support of Representative Joe Kennedy III."

"The Kerry campaign is a spirited defense of Liberalism and the Democratic Ideals, while not pushing for policies that the general American public does not support. Universal Healthcare is our number one priority, the next issues we will be tackling are reforming our immigration system, and Criminal Justice reform."

"Together a united America can bring our nation away from division and into the future. We saw 4 years ago what a divided Democratic Party would do, but today we see what a united party will do. I call on Progressives, Blue Dogs, New Democrats, and Old Democrats. Those who were spirited supporters of the New Deal, and those who were at the forefront of the Great Society."

"United we stand! Divided we fall! This is not just a call to action for a United Democratic Party, but for a united America!"

John Kerry Surrogate schedules

Tim Ryan

The Democratic leader in the House will spend this time rallying support around Senator Kerry in Iowa, where he will be using his connections as the top Democrat in the House to build up an organization in the state for Senator Kerry. He will be focusing on recruiting precinct committeemen throughout the state and campaigning for Senator Kerry among the working class voters in the areas that are more hostile to Democrats in the northwest of Iowa. His primary goal as a surrogate is too visit every county in the state before, June 1st and to focus on recruiting campaign staff in these rural counties.

Steny Hoyer

One of Senator Kerry's more noticeable endorsements was Fmr. Majority Leader Steny Hoyer of Maryland. Unlike Leader Ryan, he will be focusing on gaining the Senator more traction within the beltway working with the leaders of the Democratic National Committee to sow roots between Kerry's campaign and these all important state democratic parties. He will also be appearing with Senator Kerry and Vice President Biden on March 17th for a St. Patrick's Day celebration in Boston. He will also be meeting with top Democratic donors, pitching them the idea of Kerry's campaign and his commitment for Universal Healthcare, and his experience on matters of Foreign policy, as well as his service in the Vietnam war.

Adam Schiff

Representative Schiff is a key surrogate for Kerry's western campaign. He will be focusing on driving out educated more liberal voters in Nevada. He will also be spending a lot of time in California with the announcement of Kamala Harris a strong showing in California will be key for the Kerry campaign. He will be laying the foundation for a campaign in Nevada, while making several joint appearances with Senator Kerry, as well as Vice President Biden, and many other of Kerry's top surrogates in both the west and the entire nation. Schiff will only spend a part of his time in Nevada, he will be making a few week long trips to both Iowa and New Hampshire where he will be working with Vice President Biden, Leader Ryan, and Senator Kerry in blanketing the states will on the ground activists and Kerry campaign surrogates.

Elizabeth Warren

Senator Warren will be focusing solely on New Hampshire. She is a popular figure in the state, and she commands an audience of many progressive Democrats who attempted to draft her to run 4 years ago. She will be holding around a dozen townhalls in New Hampshire, as well as a half dozen solo rally's and nearly as many joint appearances with Vice President Joe Biden, and with Senator John Kerry. Her actions should bring much attention in local media to the Kerry campaign, while others are not focusing so heavily on New Hampshire Kerry will make this one of his prime targets, by setting one of his best surrogates loose on the state. The Campaign hopes this will lessen the effect of Progressive Governor Stacey Abrams on the Granite State.

Joe Kennedy III

Representative Kennedy will do the same as Senator Warren and focus solely on New Hampshire during this time period. He will however, be focusing on connecting with younger voters. He will visit every 4 year college in the state of New Hampshire over the coming months. His primary message will be Senator Kerry's policies on the opioid epidemic which is hitting New Hampshire hard, he will be focusing on the younger voters, but won't be leaving others out in the wind.

Joe Biden

Vice President Biden is Kerry's top surrogate at the moment, he will be covering much ground during the months. Including over a dozen stops in Iowa and New Hampshire, his primary focus is New Hampshire where he will be joining Elizabeth Warren, Senator Kerry, and Joe Kennedy III. These are the stars of Senator Kerry's campaign, Biden focusing on the Senator's service, his opioid response plan, and his plan for Universal Healthcare.

John Kerry surrogate schedules

Elizabeth Warren

Senator Warren has been relatively quite on the campaign trail these first few months, she hasn't ventured very far outside of her traditional heartland in New England. She has made a large impact in the state of New Hampshire though, and that is where she will be staying here in June. Senator Kerry is putting a large effort into protecting the Granite state from outside contention, by one of the other candidates when he will have an advantage from past infrastructure in the state and the campaign being headquartered in Boston. She will emphasize the Senator's policy on the Environment and Social Security while campaigning.

Joe Kennedy III

Representative Kennedy will be sticking to a similar schedule as Senator Warren focusing on grabbing young voters in the Granite state by campaigning on Environmental issues and Social Security. He will be focusing on appearing on as many college campuses as possible and connecting with first time voters. He will be relying on his youth and charisma to entice many voters as he can in this crucial early state for the Senator.

Steny Hoyer

While not as major as the former 2 endorsers, Rep. Hoyer still holds a good amount of sway over national Democrats. He will be spending a lot of time campaigning among the higher ups within state parties, but focusing on state's before Super Tuesday. He will also be making the morning show rounds for Senator Kerry and his campaign, Nevada, South Carolina, California, Iowa, New Hampshire and Texas are all top targets for the Kerry campaign and Representative Hoyer specifically.

Adam Schiff

Whip Schiff will be stumping hard on the west coast and mountain west for Senator Kerry. Focusing on California and Nevada. He will be stumping within key groups of the Democratic electorate in these states focusing on younger, liberal, Democrats in both states. He will be campaigning in the bay area and focusing on Reno in California and Nevada respectively both states will offer key momentum for the Senator in his pathway to the Democratic nomination.

Tim Ryan

Leader Ryan will be focusing on winning voters in the Industrial heartland of Iowa, while Sherrod Brown may be backed by the AFL-CIO and other big unions. Leader Ryan will be the spokesperson for the campaign on issues pertaining to the working class, while he will make several joint appearances with Senator Kerry his campaigning will be almost solely focused on Iowa in the month of June much like how others are focused solely on the areas of New Hampshire and the west coast.

Joe Biden

Vice President Biden is one of Senator Kerry's so called "Superstar Surrogates" he will be making a half dozen joint appearances with the Senator in the month of June, and will be splitting the month focusing primarily on Iowa, but also making several appearances in Nevada and California. He will be campaigning heavily in the African American and Latino communities trying to negate any advantages the other candidates could have in those areas, while the African American community may be harder to bridge the gap any movement will help the Kerry campaign.

Jesse Jackson

Mr.Jackson is a key member of Senator Kerry's outreach to the Black Community, he will be focusing on South Carolina which is a primary that he won in 1988. He will be campaigning on Senator Kerry's defense of Liberalism and his support of many policies that will help the black community while comparing that to the lack of experience of Governor Abrams who hasn't been in office for a year at this point in the primary cycle.

Chuck Schumer

Senator Schumer will be focusing on the NYC-NJ-PHL metro area, where he can pickup much support for the Senator. He will also be campaigning across the nation on if Democrats want a majority in the Senate then Senator Kerry is the right choice for the next President because he is the strongest Democrat in the field for President. He will be talking to his Senate allies as well within the caucus about Senator Kerry's experience.

Al Gore
Former Vice President Gore is apart of Senator Kerry's "Superstar Surrogates" He will be focusing primarily on Iowa and Nevada. He will be stumping across the state of Iowa highlighting his connection to farming and his popularity among rural farmers and those who rank religion as a more important factor. He will be focusing on Reno in Nevada as well talking about Senator Kerry's support for the state of Nevada and his deep history within the state and his service in the Vietnam war.

Cedric Richardson
Congressman Richardson is the Chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus and a key surrogate for Senator Kerry in the south. He will be focusing on the state of South Carolina, and attempting to expand Senator Kerry's support among the African Americans of the State and expanding his reach in the key primaries of super tuesday including Tennessee, North Carolina, Alabama, among others.

Debbie Wasserman-Schultz
As former Chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee she holds influence among the state parties and among their chairmen, she will be primarily focusing on campaigning in the democratic vote rich areas in South Florida along with Orange County Florida. Florida will be a key state for the Senator in the primary so an early campaign schedule will help.

Theresa Kerry

Mrs.Kerry will be spending most of her time on the campaign trail with her husband John, but she will also be speaking to numerous women's groups and attempting to expand his support among women of all ages and pledging to fight for literacy among women if her husband is elected President.

John Kerry

Last but not least is the candidate himself, he will be spending the month split between New Hampshire and Iowa focusing on the former but also campaigning vigorously on the latter as he hopes a good finish in Iowa will lead to a victory in New Hampshire and momentum going into super Tuesday when Senator Kerry is campaigning he will be with his wife Theresa and focusing on his experience his stance on Social Security, Healthcare, and the Environment. He will make his service in Vietnam a centerpoint of his campaign focusing on his service to his nation and his 3 purple hearts, Silver Star, and Bronze Star.

Great Question Wolf, My view on America's role stage? Jimmy Carter said "Human Rights is the soul of our foreign policy , because human rights is the very soul of our nationhood." These words will ring true with a Kerry Administration, Free Trade, Free Elections, and Free People are the 3 F's of my Foreign Policy. I learned what it was like to be free after I saw suffering at the hands of man in Vietnam, when I was commanding a swift boat in our "Brown water" navy I risked my life everyday. Did anyone else up here tonight serve? I saw some of the bloodiest days of the war and our nationhood is built on Human Rights, the Foreign Policy of our nation is also built on these rights, and they include the right to be a free people, free elections, and free trade.

A good finish in Iowa is crucial to the Kerry campaign as it will give momentum heading towards New Hampshire, South Carolina, and Nevada, and eventually into Super Tuesday. Rep. Hakeem Jefferies (NY)

Rep. Hakeem Jefferies will be spending most of the month in South Carolina building up Kerry's support among African Americans, but Rep. Jefferies will be focusing on the urban areas of Charleston, and Columbia in his effort to help Senator Kerry win the primary, and later White House in this election as he knows a defeat in South Carolina will deeply impact the campaign of Governor Abrams.

Rep. Jim Clyburn (SC)

Former Majority Whip, Congressman Clyburn will be focused on flipping black voters in South Carolina to the side of Senator Kerry. As he is a key Congressman from the state he will be focused on flipping all voters, and his powerful machine will be used to help build Senator Kerry's grassroots base within the state. He will also be working on bringing the leaders of the state party to Kerry's side to ensure victory in this crucial state for the Kerry campaign.

Another southern, black, democrat to endorse Senator Kerry is Rep. Sewell from Alabama who is going to be with Rep. Jefferies Rep. Sewell will also put up a fight with the female vote as she focuses on convincing White suburbanites to vote for the Senator.

Fmr. Rep and Candidate Beto O'Rourke (TX)

Beto O'Rourke who was once a promising candidate in this election has chosen to endorse Senator Kerry. He will focus on Nevada, where he will be stumping for Senator Kerry on the issue of immigration a crucial one to the Senator and the hispanic community is one where Beto is very popular in Nevada is a state which is up for grabs so, his endorsement will be crucial going forward.

Governor Vilsack has a long and storied career in Iowa and is considered one of the foremost minds on Agriculture he is being considered for the role of Secretary of Agriculture for a possible Kerry Presidency.

Theresa Kerry

The wife of Senator Kerry will be taking to the road away from her husband this month by campaigning extensively in the state of South Carolina promoting her husbands plan to build rural school's and his plan to expand rural broadband internet. She will be making several appearances with her husband as well across the nation.

Sen. John Kerry (MA)
Senator Kerry's campaign has been bolstered by a slew of new endorsements and surrogates. He will be campaigning extensively across the nation making a dozen appearances in Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, and Nevada. He will also make a short visit to North Dakota. His campaign is centered around, lower taxes for the middle class, and a new education system that will work for everyone. To Senator Kerry:

The people I am endorsed by are smart, they see the perils of climate change. Mayor Buttigieg and Rep. O'Rourke see the perils, as do President Clinton, Vice President Biden, and Vice President Gore. The leaders of our party in both houses of Congress, in Senator Schumer and Leader Ryan see these problems in Climate Change. The establishment is not against change, the establishment is against change for the worse, I hear all these talking heads, disowning the establishment. President Clinton was apart of the establishment when he was elected in 92'. Vice President Biden was apart of it as well, and he helped give us the biggest expansion of healthcare in nearly 50 years. If you want a future for humanity where our children can breathe clean air, then you support the Green New Deal. The trajectory of our party is one that is pointing up, towards the future because the future is where are children, and their children will prosper with a clean environment because of the Green New Deal.

John Kerry for President

Surrogate & Candidate Schedule September-February

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (MA)

September: Warren will be moving outside of New Hampshire this month, as she campaigns in Nevada and Iowa during September. She will first appear at the University of Northern Iowa, Iowa State University, and The University of Iowa, She will then begin a tour of the central Iowa suburban/rural counties to attempt to combat Senator Brown's appeal to the rural regions of the state. She will be appearing with Rep. O'Rourke, President Clinton, Rep. Lobesack, and Governor Vilsack in Davenport to attempt to appeal to President Clinton's base from his elections in the 90's he carried many of the eastern border counties with over 60% of the vote, while in 2004 Senator Kerry swept the entirety of Iowa's border counties to the east.

October : In October, Warren will be continuing her push outside of New Hampshire by campaigning heavily in Nevada this month. She will appear with Rep. Horsford, Rep. O'Rourke, President Clinton, Vice President Gore, and Vice President Biden in a rally in support of more liberal Immigration legislation in the state. She will then fly to Oklahoma later in the month where she was born, she will hold a rally in her birthplace of Oklahoma City, and meet with Democratic Leaders in the State House and Senate. Following this, she will return to Iowa and continue her campaign among rural voters in the eastern portion of the state where she believes the best margins will be found against Senator Brown.

November: In November, Senator Warren will continue her nationwide trek in support of Senator Kerry. She will be campaigning in North Dakota this month, focusing on the city of Fargo early in the month touting Senator Kerry's support of education reform, and environmental policies. She will speak to the student body of North Dakota State University and meet with Democratic leaders of the State House and State Senate later on. She will also campaign with Senator Dorgan and Rep. Pomeroy in heavily Native American areas of the state touting Senator Kerry's record on environmental issues and his opposition to large pipelines. Following her trip to North Dakota, she will renew her campaigning in Iowa, where she will meet with local Democratic leaders in Des Moines, and will hold a meet and greet at a local public library in the capital. She will then travel to Nevada, where she will meet with Senator Reid, and coordinate the use of the so-called "Reid Machine" to the best effect in the state.

December : In December, Senator Warren will be firmly planted in the state of Iowa. Following a meeting with Governor Vilsack, President Clinton, Senator Kerry, Rep. Lobesack, and Vice President Biden on the campaigns GOTV strategy at the headquarters in Davenport, she will continue her heavy campaigning among the industrial eastern section of the state. She will link up with Senator Kerry, Governor Vilsack, and President Clinton to rally support at a farming expo in central Iowa by promoting the Senator's pro-ethanol and pro-farmer policies. Her campaign in eastern Iowa will center around Senator Kerry's support of pro-farmer, pro-industry, and pro-Social Security policies.

January: In January, Senator Warren will continue her tour of Iowa's eastern border by campaigning heavily for Senator Kerry's policies on the state's eastern border. She has been the head of recruiting volunteers for the Senator's campaign, as volunteers are key to the GOTV effort for the campaign. Following her campaigning in eastern Iowa, she will again visit the University of Iowa, Iowa State University, and Northern Iowa in an attempt to bring undecided or leaning college voters firmly to the side of Senator Kerry. They key demographics for Senator Kerry in Iowa will be those she focuses on in the final days of the month.

February: In early February leading up to caucus day Senator Warren will be campaigning heavily, making close to a dozen stops on the eastern border and helping with the GOTV effort across the state. On the 3rd she will be in Des Moines with Senator Kerry, Governor Vilsack, President Clinton, Senator Dorgan, Rep. Kind, Rep. Lobesack, and many other key Kerry surrogates holding something of a super rally before caucusing starts that night. She will be watching the election results in Des Moines, with Senator Kerry at the Campaign Headquarters in Des Moines, with this key state finally coming to head she can head back to New Hampshire for the first in the nation primary, a state more likely to be friendly to Senator Kerry though.

Rep. Joe Kennedy III (MA)

September: Kennedy will spend the month of September continuing the campaign in New Hampshire, without Senator Warren he is the primary surrogate for Senator Kerry in New Hampshire. Speaking to students at Dartmouth, the University of New Hampshire and other colleges across the state. He will appear a series of townhalls focusing on the policies of Senator Kerry and the plan to bring New Hampshire, and the nation back into the swing of Democratic politics. He will spend three and a half weeks in New Hampshire, then he will go to Iowa and appear at a townhall/Q&A at Iowa State University in an attempt to help Senator Kerry's appeal to younger voters.

October: Kennedy will fly to Virginia in October where he will campaign for Senator Kerry in the Northern Virginia counties of Loudon, Fairfax, and Prince William. His primary message will be Senator Kerry's support for Government Workers, and his support of Universal Healthcare policy. Following this short trip to Virginia, he will head to North Dakota in a brief stop giving a town hall to the students of a local Bismarck High School, and then another at NDSU in Fargo. Following this he will head back to New Hampshire, and give similar Town halls at Dartmouth and the University of New Hampshire, following these events he will head to Nashua where he will speak patrons at a local diner on Senator Kerry's strong support for an Opioid response, Social Security, and Environmental issues.

November: Kennedy will return to New Hampshire again, by campaigning on the issue of education on the state's heavily suburban southern border counties with Massachusetts. He will also campaign in the heavily unionized southeastern sections of the state, there was where John Edwards had the strongest showing in 2004 and where the campaign is attempting to combat the message of Sherrod Brown in the state. Kennedy will then turn his attention to Nevada where he will hold town halls at both the University of Nevada and the University of Nevada Las Vegas where he will focus on the topics of Immigration and Social Issues.

December: Kennedy will return to New Hampshire this month, where he will campaign in Nashua, Concord, and Keene. He will meet with local Democratic leaders in Keene, Concord, and Nashua where he will continue promoting Senator Kerry's mixed populist-pragmatist record as the best way for Democrats to capture the White House, the New Hampshire Legislatures, and the Governors Mansions. He will then head to Virginia where he will hold a series of town halls at the University of Virginia, Virginia Tech University, and Old Dominion University. He will then appear with Senator Kerry, President Clinton, and Vice President Gore at a rally in Concord in support of Senator Kerry. The primary focus of his actions this month are to appeal to those in the major population centers of New Hampshire, and to reach out to College Voters in Virginia.

January: Kennedy will be continuing his campaign in New Hampshire, but will be appearing at events that attract older, more moderate, New Hampshire residents. He will be highlighting the response plan for the opioid crisis, the green legislation that Senator Kerry has endorsed and campaigned on, and his plans for legislation on education to help combat the need for state governments to focus so heavily on it. Following this, he will have several luncheons with volunteers in the suburban areas of southern New Hampshire and coordinating apart of the GOTV effort with those in the Massachusetts exurbs of the State. On January 25th he will fly to Ames, where he will take part in a concentrated campaign to turn out Iowa State University students and the local populace in favor of Senator Kerry.

February Kennedy will be continuing his focus on Ames and Iowa State University, with the close nature of the Iowa caucus he will be focusing on firming up support for Kerry among college educated white voters in Ames as they are one of the key groups for Senator Kerry across the state. He will also focus on the suburbs of Ames, as they too are a key group targeting "Soccer Moms" and college educated voters in the suburbs will be key to a Kerry victory in the state, He will attend a Pancake Breakfast with volunteers in Ames before helping with the GOTV effort in the college town and it's surrounding suburban community, before finally settling in and watching the returns at the campaign office in Ames.

Rep. Steny Hoyer (MD)

September: Rep. Hoyer will continue to fundraise for the campaign and will be focusing heavily on tapping into the African American donor base in cities like Baltimore, Detroit, Chicago, and Philadelphia. While a solid campaigner, Senator Kerry and Rep. Hoyer believe his best value to the campaign will be in D.C. and the surrounding area where he can bring Superdelegates to the campaign's side. He will also be one of the campaign's chief faces on talk shows in the D.C. area he will be on Tucker Carlson and Face the Nation this month.

October: Hoyer will continue campaigning among the members of the House of Representatives he will bring on Senator Kerry's side Rep. Joaquin Castro and in turn his brother Former Mayor Julian Castro. Following this, Hoyer will actually begin campaigning in Iowa, he will not be campaigning in the traditional sense, but he will work on bringing state senators, and representatives onto the side of Senator Kerry. He will also work on bringing members of the county parties and recruiting prescient committeemen to help bring Iowa into the Kerry column.

November: He will renew his efforts of building support for Senator Kerry within the local Democratic establishments, as the former Minority whip, and Majority Leader, Hoyer has spent decades building relationships with the members of the state party. He will be talking about how he, Leader Ryan, Whip Schiff, Chairman Jefferies, and Leader Schumer believe Senator Kerry is the best opportunity to retake the House and Senate as well as the state legislature of New Hampshire to the Democratic column.

December: Hoyer will return to D.C. this month and continue the campaign in the house of representatives to pickup support for Senator Kerry. He will begin by bringing 2 more African American representatives in G.K. Butterworth and Alma Adams onto the side of Senator Kerry, as both are members of the North Carolina delegation this will allow them to hopefully swing the state into Senator Kerry's column and it's twin to the south as well.

January: By the new year, Hoyer's recruiting will have paid off bringing in 5 new endorsements for Senator Kerry's campaign with the final one coming in the middle of January by Illinois Congresswoman Cheri Bustos. He will be focusing on attracting further donors for Senator Kerry as he will need to continue getting more cash if he expects to expand upon a solid finish in the early contests.

February: In the early days of the month Hoyer will be coordinating Senator Kerry's ground game in Iowa, he will help purchase buses for the campaign to shuttle voters to and from the polling places, and contribute to the campaign.

John Kerry 2020

Campaign Ad: Service

James Rassmann
Quote
John Kerry saved my life... I was thrown overboard, and John ordered his boat to turn around and pick me up, he reached out over the bow of his boat and picked me up out of the water. He deserved a helluva lot more than a Bronze Star. We were under fire, and he risked his own life to save mine. I can tell you that I wouldn't be here today without John Kerry.

John Kerry
Quote
I had already been wounded, and when James was thrown into the water we were under heavy fire from the NVA. He was trying to climb up the cargo net and he couldn't get up. So I got on my knees and lifted him over the bow. James was the real hero there.

James Rassman
Quote
John Kerry has been there, John Kerry has served, I know what I want in a President, and that is service. We lost brothers over there, and the men in Iraq and Afghanistan lost brothers there too. John Kerry is the only veteran in this field, on both sides of the aisle. If you want someone who knows what sacrifice is like, you'll vote for John Kerry. He sacrificed his body to save mine.

John Kerry victory speech

Victory Speech
Quote
Wow! We have the momentum! At the beginning of the campaign the Washington Elite wrote us off, they called me washed up! Look at us now Washington! We've Nevada soon, which Im sure will be a great race! Then we keep on going, to the South, the Mountain West, and then we have Super Tuesday! This day will go down in history as a day of reckoning the day where John Kerry and the American people flipped the switch, we have 11 months until the election! We need to start unifying tonight and that's what we are doing!

Senator Brown and Governor Sink are attacking my record, my record speaks for itself, 3 purple hearts, 2 bronze stars, and a silver star. I was called a passionate defender of liberalism during my time in the Senate, and I have fought for these issues my entire life. I will not attack my fellow Democrats in this primary! The purpose of this campaign is Hope and Change! New Hampshire spurred my campaign in 2004, and it is gonna jumpstart us again here tonight! Tomorrow we leave for Nevada, and we're going to win there too!

Thank you New Hampshire for powering the fight! We won here, and that set the tone to continue our struggle! I won't go negative, because the future of our country will be positive!

John Kerry
Quote
Hi, Im John Kerry and Im going to be the Democratic nominee for President. What does this flag mean to you?

John Kerry
Quote
To me, it means service and unity. I served my country in Vietnam, and for that service I was awarded 3 purple hearts, 2 bronze stars and a silver star for my actions. On the idea of unity, I promise not to attack my fellow Democrats in this primary, or my opponent in the general election.

Harry Reid
Quote
The reason I endorsed John was because he'll win in November, and return dignity to the White House. He is the only Democrat who is focusing more on policy, and less on meaningless personal attacks.

Steven Horsford
Quote
John Kerry is the only candidate who is above getting into petty political fights, and actually is focusing on the politics. He supports hardworking Americans across the nation, he's the only candidate that I feel does that, and that's why he's the best candidate for Nevada, and the best candidate for America.

John Kerry for President

Ad: Heartland

Quote

Byron Dorgan
Quote
John Kerry stands for Midwestern values, he is a fighter for the rights of the environment, civil rights, and the family farm. Not just here, but across the nation. He was wounded in Vietnam, then he spoke out about what he saw. He was a United States Senate for 30 years, and was considered one of the top minds on foreign policy. He served our country in Vietnam, He served our country in the United States Senate, and he will continue to serve our country as President.

Earl Pomeroy
Quote
I too served with John for over a decade in Congress, he is a committed liberal in healthcare expansion, and civil rights. He has fought tirelessly for the working class, like the people of North Dakota. I support John, because of his record, and because I want a President who will win back Congress, and push for concrete change.

Heidi Heitkamp
Quote
John is a key fighter for Native Americans, Women, and all Americans. He defeated the attempts of Republicans in Congress to destroy Medicaid, Social Security, and Medicare. Senator Dorgan, Rep. Pomeroy, along with thousands of other North Dakotans feel that Senator Kerry will bring Congress back into the Democratic fold, protect Social Security, and protect the hard working people of our great state.

John Kerry
Quote
We need to bring North Dakota back into the Democratic fold, I have been endorsed by 3 of the last 4 elected Democrats of the state. I want to bring Democrats back to Washington to enact legislation that is sensible and pragmatic, we need to form a coalition here, Men and Women, White and Black, Native Americans and Black Americans. All Americans can join our fight to finish the job of Great Society. I am John Kerry and I approve this message.

John Kerry
2020
Surrogate Schedule and GOTV

John Kerry Schedule in the lead up to North Dakota

February 23- Bismarck
Meet with leaders of Organized Labor, and promise them a return to Pro-Labor, Pro-Worker policies under a Kerry administration in Fargo.

campaign with President Clinton, Rep. Pomeroy, and Senator Dorgan on healthcare reform among the Native American population near Bismarck.

Have a luncheon with local tribal leaders, and Kerry supporters in Sioux county. Discuss issues pertaining to the Native American populace of the state such as the environment.

Hold a dinner time town hall, with President Clinton, and Senator Dorgan in downtown Bismarck, where they take unscripted questions from the audience. An excerpt of which is down below.

Rachel Dodgson
Quote
When you were in the Senate, you voted for the Iraq war. My husband was killed by an IED in Fallujah in 2004. Why did you vote in favor of the war, and would you do it again today.

John Kerry
Quote
Ma'am let me start off with saying you have my deepest condolences for the loss of your husband. In 2003, we were in an entirely different world one of the greatest losses in American history had happened two years earlier, and President Bush offered us someone to blame. Now I know, that what happened in Iraq was a travesty, we should never have been involved and I sincerely regret my vote on the Authorization of the war in Iraq. It is much like what happened in Vietnam, we were misled by the President and it cost thousands of brave men their lives.

I voted in favor of the war in Iraq, because at the time we were led to believe by the intelligence community that Saddam had Weapons of Mass Destruction, and we were afraid they could be used to cause devastation never felt on the shores of America. When on 9/11 the towers fell, thousands died and thousands more have been killed in the recent years, if Terrorists were to procure a WMD then it wouldn't be thousands, we would be thinking of tens of thousands, possibly hundreds.

Mrs.Dodgson to answer your question truthfully, I was lied to by the President and the Intelligence community, and If I were in the position I am now, I would not have voted to authorize the war in Iraq. My policy, in the region is that we need to focus on human rights the late Jimmy Carter said, "Human Rights is the soul of our foreign policy, because it is the very soul of our nationhood." We need to exemplify that and we need to stop propping up regimes who are Anti-Democratic, and Anti-Human Rights.

To end the day, Senator Kerry meets with key personal, and surrogates in the state at a meeting over dinner to discuss the strategy and key areas/demographics of the state that they will need to appeal to.

February 24-Fargo

To begin the morning, Senator Kerry meets with local members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the American legion where he discusses the change in American foreign policy in the Middle East he will propose, as well as some key points of his domestic agenda about veterans issues.

Senator Kerry then speaks to members of the Cass county Democratic Party, of which an excerpt can be found below. He signifies the importance of unity among the party, and an expansion in healthcare across the nation. He is introduced by Fmr. AG. Heidi Heitkamp who also gave a speech to the forum, which main focus is on how Democrats can win North Dakota

Heidi Heitkamp
Quote
And without further ado the next President of the United States! Former Senator John Kerry

John Kerry
Quote
Thank you Heidi! And Thank you my fellow Democrats! We are here today to discuss one issue, how we can win here in North Dakota. I have a plan, which I have worked with Former DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz on developing which will not just help us win here in North Dakota, but will help us continue the success that we have had in the preceding years in gaining control of state and local governments, because that is where we will build our party up, from the ground up we must rise.

If we have a dog catcher elected to the school board, because there was a special election because that school board member was elected to the Sheriffs office, because the Sheriff was elected to a State House seat, because that State Representative was elected to the State Senate, because that State Senator was elected to the Public Service Commission. That is good, we continue to build Democratic support at all levels of government, from the most local of positions to bigger and bigger positions which have more and more of an impact.

The Democratic Party, is not just a party of Coastal liberals, and union workers in the midwest. We too are the party of Middle America, we are the party that supports lower taxes for the middle class and not  the billionaires, Heidi told me that people here vote based on personality, not party I hope that rings true in a few days, we need a victory here in North Dakota so we can continue building up the Democratic party here, and across the nation. So we can take back the House for the first time in 10 years, and the Senate for the first time in 6. Join with me Democrats, to form a Great Society. Thank you all!

In the Afternoon, Senator Kerry hosts a town hall asking students from North Dakota State University to ask questions, he pledges his support for lowering interest rates on college loans, and a slew of other education friendly proposals.

He holds a meet and greet and dinner with volunteers and campaign staffers, where the campaign discusses the strategy and target demographics in key areas of the state.

He finishes the night, by meeting with local Democratic leaders, with Senator Dorgan, Fmr. AG Heitkamp, and President Clinton on why they, and Democrats across the state should support Senator Kerry.

February 25-Grand Forks

Senator Kerry begins the day with a breakfast with community and business leaders of the city, and how a Kerry Presidency will be the best thing for the nation, because it will result in better education, better healthcare, and lower taxes for the middle class

Hold a rally on Middle Class tax cuts, and pro-worker policies with President Clinton, Senator Dorgan, Senator Durbin, and Senator Casey. He also champions the fact that Kerry's campaign has been endorsed by the top Democrats in both houses of Congress.

Bob Casey
Quote
Fellow Americans, and Fellow Democrats! I am endorsing John Kerry, not because he is the choice of the establishment. I am endorsing John Kerry, not because he offered me the best positions. I am endorsing John Kerry, because he is a servant of the people and a hard worker. He was wounded in Vietnam, and I can speak truly that if my father was here today he would endorse John Kerry as well, we are a United Democratic party, and we need a uniter like John Kerry to push forward into the future.

Dick Durbin
Quote
I am endorsing John Kerry, because he is a friend of working class Americans, he is our best hope to win back congress, because he is pro-middle class, and he is pro-worker. Join him North Dakota, we sure will in Chicago, we need a united party to combat the Republicans in November, and I served with John Kerry for 20 years he's the fighter we need, and he is the one we will get.

Senator Kerry will speak at a meeting of the Fire Fighters Union, and how a Kerry Presidency will target Taft-Hartley and look to repeal it to strengthen American union workers, especially those in the public sector.

In the evening Senator Kerry will hold a voter registration drive in Grand Forks, and meet with volunteers and campaign staff who will be attempting to push turnout in the eastern part of the state in favor of the Senator.

February 26-Bismarck

An early morning rock the vote rally with President Clinton, Whip Durbin, Senator Casey, Senator Dorgan, Rep. Pomeroy, AG Heitkamp, Senator Kerry talks about the importance of voting on the Democratic system, and his support for automatic voter registration, no excuse absentee balloting, and other progressive voting policies.

Senator Kerry meets with campaign staffers, and has a conference call with his leadership team in North Dakota. He discusses with President Clinton and Senator Dorgan how the early caucus numbers are looking. An excerpt of his speech is below.

Quote
Hello Bismarck! Are you ready to ROCK THE VOTE! We need every voter to come out tonight, it's looking like a close race on both sides of the aisle! The key issues we need to talk about are voting rights! We need automatic voter registration, no excuse absentee balloting, and other liberal changes to our voting rights. We need these to make sure everyone has the right to vote, and make sure no Americans are silenced.

We need these rights, just like we need healthcare, and we need education reform. Join me! Do your Democratic duty as citizens! And vote! We need to pick a strong nominee for November, by golly I know the Republicans will! If we want a stronger healthcare system, if we want to fix a broken school system, and if we want to have stronger workers, with middle class tax breaks we will vote!

Senator Dorgan, Representative Pomeroy, and President Clinton are here today because they want to help ROCK THE VOTE! We need all the voters we can get today, so we can win North Dakota now! AND So we can win it in November! I'd like to ask everyone to vote, Democrat, or Republican do your civic duty and cast your ballot. Thank you all, and god bless North Dakota!!!

At the end of the day before polls close, Senator Kerry settles in and prepares for the results to come in with Theresa, President Clinton, and Senator Dorgan with them.
