Why did he raise taxes on the rich and should he really take credit for the Republicans balancing the budget?

The Clinton budget of 1993 that included many of the tax increases and spending cuts that led to the balanced budget passed without a single Republican vote.  The real question is: how can any Republican claim credit for balancing the budget?

This and lets not forget Bush's 1990 Budget Deal where he broke the Tax Pledge.
