He's a poster that I've generally viewed as a great contributor to the forum and a very smart dude, but I agree with Antonio and traininthedistance in that I don't really see a lot of positive contribution to the forum at large lately and that's a bummer, because there's a lot of older Oakvale posts that I hold in high regard and I miss his "effortposting" and some of his older sincerity.

I've seen a lot of people get swept away by this place in pretty harsh ways. I don't want to call it getting "corrupted" by the forum or something silly like that, but it's definitely possible to get a little too close to the flame. Some people have been driven to no-joke nervous breakdowns and even when Duke jokingly says that Atlasia "drove him to drinking too much" I know there's a little tiny kernel of truth to it that's kind of depressing.

Atlas is just a forum. It can be a good and insightful forum where a lot of fascinating and no-nonsense discussion takes place, and it can breed a very close community that has formed all kinds of bonds in a way most discussion sites never do, and it's valuable for all those things, but it's just a forum. If it really grates on you that much, take time away from it and its (at times incredibly taxing) culture. Try not to become the thing that you rightfully hate.
