My first French memory is 2002, when my dad told me that Le Pen had gotten into the runoff. I also recall the 2004 regionals a bit, when my dad told me everything save for Alsace and Corse were leftie. I only started paying attention to French politics in '06.

I was in Canada during the 2004 campaign, went to the polls with my aunt, and watched the first part of election coverage (the Newfie and Atlantic part).
