Hunger

It was a good film. One of the police officers in the film had an uncanny resemblance to my deceased Grandfather on my Father's side. Shame he was beating the absolute shit out of those who orchestrated the second hunger strike, but then again Sands, etc were bringing it upon themselves....

The Brothers Bloom. I liked it. Funny entertainment, and conman movies is an underrated genre. I also saw the Sting recently, at home.

Romeo + Juliet - Awful.  Just awful; I'm reading the play now, and I was appalled at how things were set up; especially the Queen Mab speech, and the party at Capulet's house.

I just saw it too.  Loved it.

Quantum of Solace, finally

meh. It was way too Bourne-esque. definitely lacked the personality and sophistication of Casino Royale. Passable entertainment and certainly superior than the sh**t churned out at the end of Brosnan's run, but it won't have a special place in my heart like most other Bond films.

Are you talking of William Shakespeare's Romeo + Juliet?

If so, prepare to die.

I am indeed talking of that particular film.  It was awful.

Same, except I thought it was passable entertainment. Certainly not special at all. The sexual tension was ridiculous though.

That's the only reasonable answer, I suppose.

Milk.

Excellent, truly great. My favorite part being when the news announced the gay rights ordinance in St. Paul and the theater broke into applause. It was nice to have that little nod to us in the movie. Hard to believe San Francisco used to be like that....

I've yet to seen it, but I can assure you that the Burgess' novel is more so weird. But then again, this is Kubrick we are talking about, so a vast majority of his films are bound to be weird.

The Dark Knight

My friend had it on. It looked watchable, but I never was much of a Batman person. I even rejected the offer to come to the movies to see it this Summer. Christan Bale is too "sinister sounding" as Batman. The late Heath Ledger gives a good performance as the joker and Aaron Eckert is very good...probably the best act in the film.

I'm still partial to Michael Keaton and Jack Nicholson.

Changeling.

Why does it take Clint Eastwood to do what so many younger directors try to do and epicly fail; simple drama, no pretentious nonsense, no "Doesn't Society Suck" message (Are you Listening Sam Mendes?) just classic American style Drama put to perfection. Probably my favourite American film of the year, yes, that's ahead of No Country and There Will be Blood (I'm talking about Irish Release Dates, before anyone gets bitchy. You know who.)
