I imagine many people are praying for someone "young" because they fear that Malachy prophecy.

Why would a cardinal be much younger than that? They usually are or have been archbishops, who have (usually) been bishops for a while, who have (usually) been priests for a while.

The really interesting thing about Baselios wouldn't so much be his comparatively young age or his appearance as the fact that the Pope wouldn't be, or wouldn't originally have been, Latin Rite.
