actually my point is really that we shouldn't bother trying to catch him alive, which he would never let happen anyway.

Well he doesn't deserve it because he deserves much worse and it's hardly a punishment for him. It's like executing a failed suicide bomber.

That is why rather than try to capture him a live and risk the ire of his followers, especially after executing him, we should just not bother trying to capture him and just neutralize him, to use the technical term.

I don't think Osama bin Laden should be caught alive and tried.  I think he should be killed as a casualty of war.  Just kill him.  I don't care who does it, or how.
