...it cites an analysis of a huge number of polls?

It cites an article that mentions the Pew poll and that ABC/WP poll, both of which showed it closing.  It also cites Silver, who noted the big gender gap in a Zogby poll.

In all fairness, Obama is leading with women, but Romney has closed that gap somewhat.
