His takes on the Soviet backed Afghanistan regime lasting only 3 years after the Soviet Union withdrew (and ironically lasting longer than the Soviet Union itself) aged extremely poorly after his regime crumbled before the US even withdrew.

Now that Trump is a convicted felon, will Desantis make an exception to allow him to vote in Florida?

Absolutely.

And not only that. I predict he will ignore all warrants from New York.

If it was you, you’d already be in jail.

Why do you believe Trump is above the law? Why do you believe Trump is better than you?

I'm as massively guilty to the point of hypocritical of this as anyone here, but will people please PLEASE stop replying to osr and Ljube. They are obviously immune to facts, Common sense, and just information in general . Replying to them is thus a simple waste of bandwidth. Having them on ignore doesn't do any good otherwise, and I'm sure I'm not the only person in this thread losing IQ points every time they read one of their inane brainless posts.

Edwards, obviously. Say what you will about his personal morality but the guy's politics have been 100% vindicated by the past decade and a half.

If holding accountable a former president for his crimes is going to tear a country apart then this country isn't worth saving.

Easy to say that when you’re from a mess of a country like Greece where corrupt officials rarelt get held accountable and you don’t have as much to lose. We have a 250 year old democracy on the line.

Appeasing would be terrorists is probably not a good idea. There are other problems with your argument as well, but I'm going to bed.

Amazing how willing you are to apply that logic to the U.S., but not to Israel.

It's bizarre how you try to wrap your argument in the cloak of "defending democracy" when what you are arguing for is a two-tiered legal system. A bedrock principle of a true democracy is that everyone, no matter how rich or powerful a position in society, is held to the same set of laws and the same set of consequences for breaking those laws.

If you so desperately want to live somewhere where the ultra elite in society can commit crimes with literal impunity while the bottom socioeconomic rungs of society are harshly punished for minor crimes, I suggest moving to Iran, Russia, China, etc.

I never knew we weren't a democracy because Ford Pardoned Nixon, Wall Street Bankers got off in 08 etc.

We let presidents off stuff like this becuase its good for the country just like we let the wall street bankers off because we needed the financial system stable

Rather interesting claim since 'some would say' anyway that the banksters getting off is what led to the election of Trump. So, it's important for the little guy to not hold the too big criminals to account, but it's also important for the little guy to be angry enough at this to vote for this corrupt con artist Donald Trump.

Of course, I also disagree on the merits, but it certainly is the case that many of those who lie they are for 'the little guy' like those at (Un)Reason Magazine or the New York (Trash) Post and psychopath Rupert Murdoch, are really only concerned about the wealthiest.

It's horrible for the country to let Presidents off for crimes while regular people get convicted for falsifying business records all the time. That's an oligarchy, not a democracy. Ford pardoning Nixon is why Presidents and politicians feel as if they can commit serious crimes and get away with it. If you don't know this you haven't been paying attention for the last quarter century.

It's true, they are rarely held accountable. But when they do they slip into disgraceful oblivion and don't have a huge cult following threatening to burn the entire country because their leader was proven to be a felon. That's one thing where thankfully we are nothing like the United States.
