If you look at pre-convention polls, about 10% more of America was interested or very interested in watching the Democratic convention than the Republican one.
Obama got over 38 million viewers, which is more than the last episode of American Idol and the opening ceremonies of the Summer Olympics.
So, could a vice-president, however interesting, shatter both the polled interest and Obama's insane enthusiasm gap?
Probably not.
