SOFE note - Remember that there are deadlines to run for office, specifically President. If you want to run, declare now, or forever hold your piece (just don't do it in public, mkay, I don't want anyone getting charged with indecency)

In order to make everything run smoothly, I will be reposting this each election cycle, and, asking all of you to do certain things.

First. Regardless of what the law requires, I ask of you, to make the process as efficient as possible, to declare any intention to run for the coming election (That is, the one 2 months from now) after this notice. This will ensure that I do not have to go back though 40 pages to find declarations. The law may or may not require you to do so, but I ask you to do so in order to make it difficult for me to miss you. If you want to run for office, you should then make it easy for me to ensure you are on the ballot.

Secondly. Please clearly state the office you are running for. Since this thread is full of people running for Regional offices, I will search for terms like "Senat" or "President" to help me find people who are running federally. Please use these terms. Again, it makes it harder for me to miss you and hence easier for you to end up on the ballot.

Lastly. Usage of full terminology is helpful. If you list the party you are running for it saves me from having to look it up. If you list the election (IE General vs a Special election/By-Election) it also avoids confusion. Nothing here is a requirement, but they all serve to make the process easier on all of us. The fewer mistakes that are made, the better it is for democracy. Thank you.
