I gave him an F, if only because F- wasn't an option. The head figure of the poor-hating. warmongering, fascist, authoritarian movement within the GOP is not someone I would think highly of at all.

If it weren't for Iraq, he probably would be a decent President.

Yet you are a Lieberman fan.  That makes no sense.  Iraq is as much Lieberman's war as Bush's.

Anyway I selected F.  I'd have given him a Zero if it was an option.  He is the worst POTUS in history.  By FAR.

Harding?

B for me.

I can hardly give him an F.  He hasn't been removed from office, so he must be passing somehow, so I gave a D-.

His protection of a massive marine area near Hawaii was a plus.. but that's about it.  Still deserves an F, but again... he's still in office.

I will be generous and give him a C -it will rise to a C+ or even a B- based on what happens in Iraq...or sink to a D- or an F if that country descends into civil war and he pulls out prematurely for political reasons.

Update:

Due to the gains made possible by this surge, I will raise his grade to a B-.

Throughout his presidency.

1/20/01 to 9/11/01 = D-

9/11/01 to 12/31/01 = A

1/1/02 to 3/1/02 = B

3/2/02 to 8/25/02 = C

8/26/02 to 3/15/03 = D

3/15/03 to 9/15/03 = C

9/16/03 to 11/15/06 = F

11/16/06 to 12/31/06 = D

1/1/07 to now = B

F

The worst president since Nixon (and Nixon was pretty decent without Watergate).

F. I base that on his total disregard for basic civil liberties, pandering to fundamentalists, disastrous corporate welfare policies, destruction of the environment, willful failure to secure the border, and incredibly ill-conceived lie-based invasion of Iraq. Not only that, but he managed to both destroy his party's reputation and America's when both had unprecedented levels of support after 9/11. The only reason things aren't worse is because he's lazy enough to leave everything to his think tanks and minions (aka his cabinet). If the recession deepens and the very tenuous progress we made in Iraq evaporates, he may be remembered as the worst since Hoover. As it stands, he's probably the worst of the post-war era. Inauguration Day can not come soon enough for me.

Even if you agree with it, can you at least acknowledge it's for all the wrong reasons?

Of course.  I'm pro-immigration for humanitarian reasons, he is for corporate reasons.

C-/D+

It would be an F, the War in Iraq brings it up a bunch.

You like the war?  What possible use is it to you?  Are you a defense contractor?

No, but I do favor saving people from ruthless dictators.  Call me crazy.

You're not crazy at all.  And you're a nice guy.

But I have to seriously disagree.  If we make a policy of ending ruthless dictatorships with war and occupation, we'll be at it for the next 300 years. And if Bush's policy is the strong, decisive one...it sure makes Ike and Ronald Reagan look like sissies for not saving all those poor Russians and Chinese from their ruthless dictators.

But if The Decider really wants to take out ruthless dictactors, I suggest he start by putting the draft into effect and going after Kim Jong Il.  Then move directly on to Riyadh and bring down the House of Saud.  Not sure how his Papa will feel about that...

Is 147,000+ dead saving them from Saddam?

Do you support invading China to liberate them?

Do you believe strongly enough in saving them that you've signed up and went to fight in Iraq?

Well, I'm only 15.  However, to be honest, no I would not have signed up to go to Iraq.  Not because I do not support the war, but because I believe my talents (if I were an adult at the time) could have been better used back at home.  I hate when people say "well why didn't you sign up".  Not everyone is good at fighting.  You can support a war without fighting in it.

Are you Mitt Romney's kid?  ;-)

F

The most inept, corrupt and callous President in American history.  I have had to really try hard to find anything to praise about his administration.

I like that he added more protection for the Everglades, I guess.
I am glad he signed do not call.

Beyond that, zip.

On a personal level, I very much admire his father's war service.  And I sincerely appreciate the fact that Dubya has been a good husband and father by all accounts.  Of course, so has my butcher and my barber.  And either of them would make vastly better Presidents than Bush.

I give him a C-, and the reason is that he handled 9/11 superbly and quickly got into Afghanistan, which was the right move.  I agree with the reasons for Iraq, and it initially was a success, but quickly turned sour.  All hope is not lost in Iraq, but we still need to get out as soon as safely possible.

While I think the Iraq war was a good thing in the beginning, it still turned his focus off Afghanistan and Osama Bin Laden.

So, I give him a B- for his first term (a term I did vote for).  Although, his second term (a term I did not vote for) has turned out to be just short of disasterous and I have to give him a D- just out of respect for the increasingly difficult job that is the United States President.

That averages out to a C-.

I agree.  Anything lower than an F would be accurate.  I only voted F because that is closest to my opinion.

I could give him a D- if he can stabilize Iraq by the time he leaves office. It doesn't seem as if too many Presidents have the ability to clean up after their own mistakes.

D

I can't fail him because he has done a handful of things I approve.

Bush is a pretty awful president but at least a lot of his crap can be flushed later, though he's done a swell job screwing around with the piping after that terrible accident when he misused the plunger.

It amazes me how, as recently as 2 years ago the GOP Kool-Aid Drinkers were saying B+.

With 42 Presidents (I don't count Cleveland twice) thus far I'd say a nice even distribution would be 5 A's, 9 B's, 14 C's, 9 D's, and 5 F's.  I can easily think of 14 Presidents who outperformed W Bush.
