How much influence does Chuck Norris actually have in the Republican Party? Because I remember he backed Huckabee in 2008 and, save for a fairly memorable campaign commercial, didn't seem to have an impact on the race, at least as far as I remember.

The endorsement of politicians might not mean much, but the endorsement of celebrities and community members can mean quite a lot.
