Looking deeper into the '16 results, while Trump improved over Romney in most of the rural areas of this district, Tulsa County, which is by far the most populated county in the district, swung towards the democrats, as did the district as a whole.

Washington County: Romney +48 to Trump +48 (=)
Tulsa County: Romney +28 to Trump +22 (D+6)
Wagoner County: Romney +46 to Trump +53 (R+7)
Creek County: Romney +46 to Trump +55 (R+9)
Rogers County: Romney +50 to Trump +57 (R+7)
Overall: Romney +32 to Trump +28 (D+4)

which is probably bad news for Democrats, because some of that likely has to have come from ancestrally R voters in South Tulsa, and who are predisposed to vote R.
