LibDems seat total doesn't really matter if the Conservatives are short of a majority; they'll still need the LibDems to get to a majority whether they have 50 seats or 110.

Still humorous if they actually end up losing seats though.
But the negotiation options are weaker for the LibDems if Labour and LibDems lacks a majority

I must say 59 for the Lib Dems would be a hilarious result... hell, a gain of anything less than ten would be a disaster... strangled by their own good news?

By the way... 255 for Labour... pretty good bad night...

The Lib Dems were projected to win 53 seats in the 2005 BBC Exit Poll....they in fact won 62 seats.

Stop being reasonable. This thread will have none of that nonsense.

Or spread too thinly to make a big impact. Remember 1983.

307 would be about enough for the Tories to govern as a somewhat stable minority government, wouldn't it?

Michael Gove states that it's a UNS projection.

Yes, that's what they do: They sample I think it's 120 seats, then take the swings in those seats and apply them on a UNS. The 120 seats are not random; they've been doing the same seats each election since 1997, I think. There's a lot of room to be wrong on all sorts of counts, and it really is an odd way to do an exit poll.

OMG these 3D graphics are awesome.

Fox/CNN/MSNBC could learn a thing or two from the BBC.

Jeremy Vine's doing this thing. The seat we need to watch is Waveney, I'd say.

The presenters sound rather pessimistic about this Exit Poll.
