Battle in Seattle.

Not at all historically accurate of course, but still one of the most intense movies I've seen all year.
It's opened in Minneapolis already? Does Minneapolis usually get such early releases?

The movie looks great. Can't wait to see it.

Usually. We are a big "art" city after all. We even have a large single screen theater (where I saw it) that's basically dedicated to these type of releases.

Gomorrah

Great movie.
The incredible hideousness of the housing project where two of the five plots are set is worth the asking price alone.

All the Real Girls.

There were some pretty powerful scenes but on a whole it was kind of boring.

wasn't too bad.  shouldn't have won Best Picture but I thought it was decent.  besides Cornell has 11 libraries and a sh**tload of movies so it was free.  (or 'paid for' as my dad would say)

Underworld.

The action sequences were cool and Kate Beckinsale was really hot, so I'd say it accomplished what it was supposed to.

Paris brule-t'il? Old movie. But good stuff.

I especially like the part where the FFIs come to take over Matignon and the commanding officer (French collabo) there stands up and does a German salute. The FFIs tell him in the name of the GPRF that they're taking over the palace, and the officer promptly says "I was always loyal to the Republic. Long live the Republic".

How collabo.

I'm pumped for American Carol (perhaps more for Kevin Farley than conservatism), but I can't go opening night because I have SATs this Saturday

Seriously?

I hope you like plotless movies. I wouldn't go to a movie like that if it had Rush Limbaugh instead of Michael Moore.

"3:10 to Yuma," recent version not the Glenn Ford movie

Very good.

BTW, "Be Here to Love Me," the TVZ documentary the thread-starter mentioned, was superb.

Life (1999, starring Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence) although billed as a comedy, it was actually a very moving drama. Not original, but very good nonetheless.
