From the Denver Post:

U.S. SENATE
Robert Greenheck: 2%
Cleve Tidwell: 15%
Steve Barton: 1%
Ken Buck: 77%
(Jane Norton and Tom Wiens are petitioning onto the ballot.)

GOVERNOR
Dan Maes: 49.35%
Scott McInnis: 48.89%
Yoon Joon Mager: 1%
(Candidate Joe Gschwendtner is petitioning on the ballot.)

TREASURER
J.J. Ament: 79%
Ali Hasan: 20%
(Walker Stapleton is petitioning onto the ballot).

What does this mean? Candidates that get at least 30% of the vote automatically are on the primary ballot (primaries are in August). Candidates can also petition their way onto the ballot. It is no surprise that Ament and Maes won, given their conservative rhetoric. However, they stand little chance in the primaries.

The Colorado conventions seem to be pretty pointless. Salazar lost the convention vote but won the primary in a landslide back in 2004.

They are. I imagine they're there to make the activists feel like they have a voice.
