The story focuses on Harris because it's a California-based news outlet, but they're simply regurgitating what's written in this story in The Hill, which says that Biden, Booker, Sanders, and Warren are doing exactly the same thing.

We all know she is going to run but this could be an interesting trial to see if she could appeal to, or even salvage, some of those voters that Clinton lost.

I hate how they characterize Michigan & Wisconsin as 'Trump country' were they ever described as Obama country? No.

That's because Obama won in a blowout was hailed from the Midwest anyway, the impressive area worth the controversy was the North Carolina Research Triangle and NoVA.

Also, everything besides The Prairies and Mountain West seemed like Obama Country until 2010.

If 2018 sees a lot of flips in the Midwest, Arizona, and the Southeast...people will stop with that nonsense.

Because he wasn't supposed to win there plus the media wants to coddle these white people and paint them as misunderstood and experiencing economic anxiety. It is all to shape a narrative.

Jason Kander to headline the Rockingham County Democrats' fundraiser in Portsmouth, New Hampshire on Saturday. It's his 11th visit to the state.

This year’s CAP Ideas Conference will be held on May 15th, and there are already some confirmed speakers, once again including several prospective 2020ers:

https://capideas.org

E.g….

Cory Booker
Sherrod Brown
Bill de Blasio
Kirsten Gillibrand
Joe Kennedy
Seth Moulton
Chris Murphy
Bernie Sanders
Elizabeth Warren

Honestly, I think this might be the very first 2020 hint of any kind dropped by Sherrod Brown.

Inslee and Klobuchar are now on the list of speakers as well.  I guess Biden and Harris are the most prominent 2020 names not on the speaker's list at the moment.  Harris was there last year though, so maybe she'll be back and just hasn't confirmed yet.  Or maybe she has a scheduling conflict.

Moulton's no longer listed on the website, so not sure what happened there.  Julian Castro's been added though.  We still just have a list of speakers, and no schedule yet.  I guess they tend to put out the schedule at the last minute for these things.

Some of these people don't strike me as people who would run for President, but might try to angle for VP.

I agree...such an inspiring message at a time when Americans are thirsting for someone to take on the system

This is the reason why I reckon Biden either won't run, or will drop out very early. I have a great deal of respect for him, but he appears to have the same tone deafness that Hillary had

Yep, what's so bad about guys like Bezos who only become that rich buy using every tax loophole possible and paying your workers close to nothing and treating them like your slaves?

Biden appears to be laying his populist agenda out for 2020:

This is your brain on class collaborationism.

What's even more baffling is that he spends other parts of the speech fulminating against non-compete agreements and other anti-labor laws, which are in large part the result of wealthy donors buying local elections and lobbying statehouses.

Some big $ donors (and Barack Obama) are urging Deval Patrick to run, but he's undecided:

They are unwittingly going to split up the black vote and allow candidates they don’t want (Warren, Bernie) to win. The only way Patrick has any chance is if he’s the only black candidate and can consolidate that vote.
