I guess this is just another gamble and distraction from McCain.
It can go both ways.

I thought the "fundamentals" of the economy were strong, who said this again?

There is an interview with a Sen. Schumer on CNN that McCain is just pulling off a political stunt, in order to take advantage of the situation, by unilaterally doing some things without even talking to Obama about it.
I completely agree. If he wants to get something done, you don't go out to say: "I suspend a campaign" publically, but you talk to the other presidential nominee first and try to get to an agreement before that.

McCain needs Obama's permission prior to making decisions about conducting his campaign?  That's interesting.
Exactly. It is campaigning. That is the problem.
It is not a "we go together and solve the problem".

If it is supposed to be bipartisan, why not make it bipartisan?
Why does just one side say:"We suspend our campaign", without talking to the other side? Questions over questions...

Yeah, but not necessarily that far that they have come to an agreement. And Obama did not say anything about him knowing that McCain would suspend his campaign unilaterally.

In fact, McCain said he informed Obama that he made the decision to suspend the campaign.
That is really bipartisan.

Palin is proving to be a bit of a dumbo as I feared, [...].
I never thought I would hear this... Smiley

Now the next democtratic senator slams McCain:
'He is trying to divert attention to his failing campaign.', says Sen. Reid.

But I think it is really about Palin, to be honest.

I am not quite sure.
It can still go both ways.
CNN is asking if Obama was blindsided by the McCain announcement:
