Let's say a law was passed prohibiting a certain person, like say, oh, Ralph Nader, from ever running for public office ever again. Would that be Constitutional and if not what would it violate?

The powers of the federal government are few and defined. Congress has no authority to bar someone from running for office.

Each House is the Judge of the Elections of its own members.
