I'm looking forward to going back to work tomorrow.  I will be going to work from 6:00-14:30 tomorrow and Tuesday and will be going back to my 5:00-13:30 shift Wednesday-Friday.  It is Week 14 beginning tomorrow.  Wednesday also begins Month 4 at Xerox!

I am going to assume you are eating green things when you are not "treating yourself," amirite?

Most of the time.

So take us through the week.  What green things have you eaten?  And no, a Shamrock shake does not count.

Sometimes, I'll heat up a can of English Peas and have that a couple nights.  Other times, it will be a can of corn (not green, but still a veggie).  Occasionally, a can of green beans.  I usually add in some lean meat in there by frying a hamburger patty, not for a hamburger, but just as a patty of meat along with the vegetables.

How much sodium per serving is in these canned vegetables?

Probably quite a bit, but canned veggies are healthier than constantly getting junk food.

I'm about to leave for another day of work in about 2-3 minutes.  Its expected to be pretty busy this week, tapering slightly by the end of the week and into next week. A busy day, though, should make for a fast day.

Its been a wonderful Monday.  I felt a little depressed right after work, but then I took a 90 minute cat nap on the couch and I was rejuvenated to do a small workout.  I watched a touching Biggest Loser show and just had a wonderful personal Bible Study reading Exodus 29-30 and Matthew 23.  Now, I am going to play on the Internet for the next 30 minutes before I get the bed out and be in bed by 10:00.  Tomorrow is the final day of Month 3 at Xerox!  Wednesday begins Month 4 and I will be eligible to come on permanent with Xerox beginning on Wednesday.  My boss tells me it shouldn't be too long of a wait!  God is SO very good!

Why were you depressed right after work?

I was so tired, I wasn't sure if I was depressed or just exhausted, which is why I opted for a short nap.

I had to make a couple phone calls right after work, and I could barely concentrate on the more important, first phone call and I was very lethargic and very incoherent when talking to my mother on the second phone call.

I had a pretty good day at the office.  I have finished month 3 and my first 90 days at Xerox - Sandy, Utah.  The ball will start rolling on getting me on permanent tomorrow.  It still could take some time to get on permanent, but it shouldn't be too long.  I feel better this evening than I did yesterday evening.  I should be able to stay up until 20:30-20:45 or so.  I return to my 5:00-13:30 shift tomorrow so it will be an early start.  My alarm will go off at 3:30, with the goal of being awake by 4:00.

Talking to my mother on the phone makes me depressed too. No worries.

My mother and I have a very good relationship, so that was actually the better phone call.  The first call was to AAA Oklahoma trying to get a refund of my yearly dues as I have transferred by AAA membership to the Utah, Nevada, and Northern California divison.

I kinda cheated tonight.  As you may know today was free pancake day at IHOP's all across the nation in exchange for a small donation to the featured charity or organization.  I went to IHOP this evening and indulged in the free short stack of pancakes.  I donated $2.00 to the Primary Children's Network of Salt Lake City and only had to pay for my drink.  I did have a regular Pepsi with my meal.  I don't feel too guilty about it because I may have consumed 500-700 calories altogether.  All I had were the pancakes, syrup, and 1 glass of the Pepsi.  I didn't have any eggs or bread or bacon with it, just the pancakes.  Plus, I helped out an honorable local charity.

Eggs would've been fine. Protein is good for your body. Now that you did that, I hope you won't also treat yourself on Saturday. Tongue

I haven't decided about this weekend, yet!

Guys, I haven't given up.  I am still working out 6 nights a week.  If I'm working out with the Wii, I'm doing light exercises while watching TV.  I'm eating mostly healthier food.  Yes, I do splurge every now and then, but I believe meals are supposed to be enjoyable times, not boring and mundane.  Also, I don't like a lot of vegetables especially the ones mentioned earlier.  I hate broccoli, brussell sprouts, asparagus, cauliflower, spinach, among other things.  I do not eat salad other than taco salad.  Finding things that are healthy that I actually like and enjoy is a bit challenging.

Yeah, that's what I expected. You weren't raised to eat things like that, and so you are not used to them, and thus don't like them. If you don't like any of that, I expect you won't really ever lose weight, maybe a bit here and there, but nothing substantial, and he doesn't have the drive to actually learn to eat better. Of course, we all have known that for a while Tongue

You and Polnut have hit the nail on the head.  I wasn't brought up around a healthy lifestyle.  My mother stopped cooking on a regular basis after my brother left for the Navy in 1994 when I was 12.  We ate out a lot and had a lot of hamburgers and pizza and otherwise unhealthy food all through my teenage years, although I was still skinny when I went to college in 2001.  There is something in college called the Freshman 15 where freshmen are expected to gain 15 pounds in their first year of college, especially if they live on campus.  For me, it wasn't the Freshman 15, it was the Freshman 50.  I really packed on the pounds in my first three years of college and have more or less stayed within 20 pounds of where I'm at now in the last 9 years.  Of course, remember it peaked dangerously in November 2011 when I topped out at 285 and was on a trajectory straight for the 300s in a rapid fashion.  I changed my habits then and lost 25 pounds through February 2012.  I have held steady within 10 pounds in either direction since.  My problem is I get started and I burn out very quickly.  Thankfully, I've got my coworker who is healthy and buys and cooks healthy who has offered to show me what to buy and how to cook it.  I need to develop a taste for vegetables.  I know I will discover a whole other world when I do develop a taste.  It is not by accident that I eat fast food and feel sick afterward.  My body is yelling at me to stop, but I reach for whatever is fast, convenient, and cheap, mostly out of impulse.

I do want to change and I am definitely open to broadening my taste buds.  I know I can't keep going the way I am and expect to live a quality, healthy life.  I may still have a long life, but what years I do have would not be spent happily.  I will be asking my coworker to meet me down at a grocery store.  To me, a grocery store just sounds better than the food section at Walmart.  They say eating healthy is more expensive.  I have a hard time seeing that.  Eating out once a day is on average $8.00 a meal.  Do that every day for a week, and i've blown $56 on food that won't get me anywhere.  In a paycheck, that is $112.  That doesnt even include bigger meals and more restaurant visits.  I'm sure I can eat healthy for $75-$85 a paycheck.  Now, I don't get fast food everyday, but if I can cut out the times I do go, that would still save me money and calories.

You don't eat salad other than taco salad?  Do you not like lettuce and carrots?

I like lettuce and carrots, just am not fond of tomatoes or onions or any kind of dressing and my taco salad is void of tomato and onion.  On a rare occasion, I will have a salad and may swallow a tomato here and there and while its not terrible, its not something I desire to have too often.  When I get a hamburger, I always get just mustard, pickles, and lettuce, and occasionally bacon.  I do not do mayonnaise, tomato, or onions on the burgers.  I like very little of what goes into a good salad, and if all I'll eat is the lettuce and carrots, I can find a different way to eat them.  One of the things I like to eat occasionally is a refrigerated, uncooked carrot.  Once in a while, I will buy a sack of carrots and munch on those instead of crackers or cookies or whatever.

You know what's more challenging than finding healthy food that you like? Finding a reasonably priced funeral home for your son.  If you aren't going to do it for you, at least do it for your family.

Trolling.  Tongue

You're lucky that Inks is taking a leave of absence this month, or he would infract you for that.  Yes, Inks would even infract you, Inks.  He doesn't play favorites.

Howdy, folks!  Another day of work is over.  One more day until the weekend.

I do plan to work out this evening for a little while.  I feel pretty good about how things are going right now.  Things could be better, but things could be worse.  I'm dealing with some issues that I've just about got taken care of, but I still have work to do on them.  I'm not going to explain what's going on at this time, but I'm dealing with them at this time.  It does not involve my job, so you can put those rumors to bed.  Nor does it involve my apartment or anything like that.

Hmm... it must be something you know we'd criticize you on, since you share pretty much everything else with the forum.

Alright, I'll tell you.  Somehow someone got a hold of my bank account information and has made a couple unauthorized purchases on it.  I am very secretive about my banking information, so it must have been obtained through a merchant I do business with regularly.  I've got those charges stopped and reversed, but after my paycheck comes in in the morning, I will have to go to the bank and close my bank account down and open a new one so they no longer have my account information.  I can't do it today, because I'm waiting to get paid just after midnight.

You can close it today, and the check just won't go through and they'll reissue a check.

True, but I need the money. Smiley

Poor criminal. Went through all that trouble to hack an account and all he got was Bushie's chump change.  If you're going to commit a felony, you may as well make it worth your while.  Go after Torie's accounts Tongue

No joke!  I didn't have much in there, so he gets very little for his efforts...

You need to be careful giving your card numbers to porn sites. Most of them are as unprotected as raw dog sex with a prostitute.

Oddly enough, it was a porn site, but I don't remember ever signing up for that particular site.  I have no idea how they got a hold of it, but to avoid this coming out in March, I am going to shut down my entire bank account and reopen it tomorrow after work.

All porn sites sleep together like all strippers grind their cooter on any man's cock that slips them a dollar bill. In short, if you give your card number to one site, you may as well send it to all of them.

Oh well.  Lesson learned.  I got both January and February reversed and the only thing it cost me was a $30 stop payment fee from the bank.

I think I just found a new drink of choice!  V8 Fusion Concord Grape Raspberry!  I bought it a couple weeks back, but just have not tried it, yet.  Needless to say, I am impressed. Smiley  V8 Fusion for an 8 oz glass gives you only 50 calories and one serving each of fruits and vegetables!  So much better than soda!!  I'm going to Walmart tomorrow night.  I am going to challenge myself NOT to buy ANY soda and instead just stick with water and now V8 Fusion!

Probably 50/50.  I'm switching off soda and going to a much healthier V8, yet you are seemingly equating V8 with Coke?  What gives?  I am not going to drink only water.
