The reason George Wallace was so successful over previous southern third party tickets was that he had a relatively more national message. For UUP to mean anything in a presidential election, they'll have to go beyond the Mormon voting bloc and appeal to someone else. Say, moderates, social conservatives, free trade Republicans, whoever gets left out of whatever coalition stabilizes post-Trump. I suspect social conservatives will be tossed to the curb, because to survive, the GOP has to branch out to minorities or white social liberals. I see the latter as more likely.
