About 200k absentee ballots have already been sent in, out of 400k requested.  In 2008 about 550k voters took part in GOP primary, so this response so far seems pretty strong. Not sure who should be glad about this early vote.
I'm guessing Arizona is like California where you can automatically be an absentee voter, like my wife is, because 400k requested seems massive.

Update, figures were 144 k returned ballots in Maricopa County alone, which has 60% of total voters in state, so 200 k figure is a loose estimate, and 400 k figure is for absentee ballots in Maricopa county alone.
