is there any evidence this has happened at any department besides that one?  I'm not saying there isn't, it's just that every time this "cops has to be dumbs" comes up it's always the same story....and that seems fishy when you're trying to paint all cops with the brush.

Fair enough.  I did go back and look for more of these stories, but all I could find was the same New London story.
