Former Senator Phil Gramm of Texas and Former Governor Frank Keating of Oklahoma have endorsed John McCain.

I'd noticed Gramm had in today's Wall Street Journal , http://opinionjournal.com/extra/?id=110009690, in which he described McCain as "a leader for our times"

They'd have been better coming in 2000. I'm no Republican, but McCain would have been preferabe to George W Bush

I'm minded to agree there. McCain doesn't look in good fettle now, let alone as President in 2009
