McCain thinks that whole "health of the mother" thing is a big scam.

It basically is. A note from her shrink that she is depressed is enough. Folks can get anything out of doctors these days, if they pay. Heck some are writing prescriptions for pot like hotcakes.

Health issues should have a bit more rigor than that, for late term abortions. Really.

Right-wingers believe that the lives of fetuses are more important than the lives of generally poor, single women, apparently.

How about just have abortion on demand and not bother with needing any notes? Some people die from their pregnancies, you know.

McCain's High School currently charges $40k a year in tuition, so he needs to STFU about education.

Because late term abortions are "immoral," absent real physical medical risks to the mother, but BS stuff.  Fetuses then have brain waves, they move around in the womb, and some might survive outside the womb. Aborting viable fetuses is close to murder in my mind. Framed in that way, your opinion vis a vis public opinion, is well "extremist," and should be. JMO.

Uncertified teachers?

How's that going to improve quality?

Teaching is something that takes certain skills, it's not something that gets picked up instantly.

Obama does not want to really debate school vouchers, other than say he is opposed. I wonder why? On this issue, the Dems are downright evil, "owned" as they are by teachers' unions and tort lawyers. Heck, that is the reason more than anything, why I am still a Republican!

Forcing a woman to die because of her pregnancy is the sign of a true extreme wingnut who should not have any power of any sort in this country.

Some teacher certification is just BS. They should make it easier for people with advanced degrees to become teachers, when some gym teacher is teaching science anyways.

Dear John:
It's not going to work for everyone to go to the $40k a year tuition HS that you went to.
Now please STFU.

I had reservations at the beginning, but I think Obama did very good. McCain's numerous facial expressions have been the most amusing the entire debate.

Do you know how a teacher gets "certified?" Do you know how many bright young folks can't teach for awhile due to the cert requirement? Do you have any faith at all, that parents can pick schools that are best for their kids?  Do you care, about locking in kids to failing schools, who don't have the money to pay for a private school, or buy their way to a more expensive zip code in which to live?

McCain does not oppose later term abortions that pose real material physical medical risks to the mother, nor do I. Nice try.

McCain just snorted when he laughed... He's going after the "Steve Urkel" vote.

Must be Joe the Plumber's election.  I wonder if Joe will be on afterwards to give us his thoughts.  I hate it when life starts imitating a bad Hollywood movie.

Where did Torie say he wanted the mother to die? You realize that not all abortions occur because the mother is going to die.

I'm pro-choice and I oppose overturning Roe v. Wade, but anyone who believes in allowing late term, partial abortions, unless the mother is going to die, is a sign of a true extreme wingnut who should not have any power of any sort in this country.

Well McCain I think has his best debate. But he's going to lose. I am quite confident of that now. He just didn't do much for swing voters, to change their mind, and as a newly minted swing voter, I remain one. This will be a painful choice for me.
