Peru, a poor developing country, has conducted their Census last year and first results will be out on June 26.

Peru is expected to have some 32 million people by now, growing by about 1.5% a year.

Madagascar, a very poor country where the plague still rages here and then, has just launched their first Census in 25 years and about 50% of the data has been collected so far. First results are out in September.

Madagascar's population was 12 million in 1993 and is expected to have grown by 3% annually to around 25 million now.

Colombia (50 million people) is currently conducting a Census as well, the first since 2005. But Hash probably knows more about it.

And Malawi (18 million), a very poor African country growing by 3% a year, is doing so as well.

Results of the 2017 Peru Census:

31.237.385

That is up from the 28.220.764 in the 2007 Census, or an annual growth rate of 1%.

The growth rate is down from 1.6% annually between the 1993 and 2007 Census.

A good sign.
