As a Berniecrat, I'm still supporting Cordray. Kucinich is good on many issues (Assad is kinda moot point here since this is a governor race), but Cordray is probably almost as progressive, more experienced, and more electable than Kucinich.

Taylor and O'Neill's picks are both major snoozefests. Expect Cordray's announcement tomorrow.

Yes, forget Assad, the real issue is the fact that Dennis the Menace is a Trump supporter now.

Kucinich will pick Turner as lt. gov. I'm calling it.

She shouldn't associate herself with that Trump-loving elf.

Assad being a possible topic in the Ohio gubernatorial election is quintessential post-Trump politics. We fall further down the rabbit hole every day.

Being an Assad apologist might have nothing to do with this race, but being a Trump apologist certainly has. And Kucinich has been one of the staunchest Trump defenders, regurgitating and validating all his conspiracy theories about the "deep state" being out there to get him.
The guy is either a fraud or a nut, and at this point I don't know which is worse.

Boring as Hell, though they should almost definitely win the primary. Really wish Joe and Nan could have worked something out.

Take it from an Ohioan, he’s a fraud through-and-through, used to have mob ties once IIRC.

Wasn't it partly relating to his involvement in some sort of sketchy stuff with Cleveland's public utilities or am I misremembering?

The hit was because of contracts specifically the garbage contract, not the utility. Mob had nothing to do with the public utility (which kucinich probably should have sold)

Kucinich had mob ties, lightly, to Danny Green (Irish mob boss), the italian mafia was in a gang war with Green during Kucinich's mayoral tenure, when Kuncinich lost re-election the mob called the hit off.

Bashar Al Assad has nothing to do with the ability to govern the state of Ohio.
Of which he has none.

Here’s Dennis Kucinich and Steve King tucking it up on stage at CPAC.

http://www.cleveland.com/open/index.ssf/2015/02/ex-rep_dennis_kucinich_takes_t.html

He’s a piece of excrement. He long ago sold out his morals in order to be Alan Colmes on steroids.

Haha, wait, is the fact that Kucinich is an utterly amoral sellout up for debate? Of course jfern is gullible enough to support him, but I'm surprised by how many people are enthusiastic about this.

Just a quick question - why do the Ohio candidates announce their LGs so early? Are they on the ballot in the primary?

Yep. You got it on the nose.

Unrelated: Saw Cordray at an event tonight. Coming around to him. Ohio's got a knack for low energy politicians anyway, and teaming up with Sutton makes a certain degree of sense, though they will be weak in Southwest Ohio.

So Nan Whaley is apparently on the way out per Jeremy Pelzer: https://twitter.com/jpelzer/status/951137463191375873

As a slight addition onto that, do we have anyone challenging Turner or not?

Kucinch is basically a Trumpist. If he manages to win the primary then I may start to agree with some of the people who say Ohio is Safe R in 2020.
