Welcome!

For those of you who don't know, the citizens of the Midwest, showing the kind of judgement that people in the other 4 regions have come to expect from them, have elected me Prime Verin (or 'Governor' as some may call it.)

I'm sure at this point you're saying: "Gee, That's great. But should I post something here?"

Well ask yourself 3 questions:

1.Are you a citizen of the Midwest who has a concern about something?

2. Do you want to yell at me for forgetting to update the Alþing?

3. Are you an insecure heterosexual male who's upset that I'm destroying you in the football picks and you want to vent?

If you said 'Yes' to any of these questions then this is the place for you. Wink

But seriously, All comments are welcome. Cheesy

BTW, when do I get sworn in as Deputy?

Congrats on your victory. I'm not sure when we get sworn in. Since both of our office are new and thus vacant It might be up to us. Unless someone else knows better.

I'm not clear on who swears me in.

Also I've been asked to figure out what our top priorities are as a region in terms of how much money we need and for what. You know, Education and infrastructure.

Any thoughts?

A new Foosball table in the breakroom would be nice.

I was happy to learn that the Unemployment rate in the Midwest is the lowest in the nation at 7.0%. But this is still not good enough. And I'll continue to work with The Alþing and the Federal Government to ensure that any Midwesterner who wants a job can get a job.

It is scandalous that cake not be given to new Midwesterners!  Cake is of utmost importance!

Okay. I didn't want to make a big deal out of this. But if you check the first page of the Census topic it says that Giovanni's last region move was June 19, 2010. And that was to the South. I'm not sure when he posted a move to the Midwest.

I just checked my old RG files...when I left the Census Bureau, Giovanni had a pending move to ND effective Dec. 16.  That having passed and the move now taken place, Hans should update the date of his last move.

Okay. Thanks for the info. Smiley

After much serious consideration I have decided to endorse the Tmthforu/Dallasfan ticket. This is not a decision I made easily, but I believe it to be the right one.  I also decided it would only be fair to post this before we had an open and public primary in the UDL, A primary that I will not be participating in.

This is not an indictment of their (Tmth/Dallas) opponents. I think they are all good people. And issue by issue there are lots of things that Thtmforu and I disagree on. But I think he is the right leader for Atlasia at this time. Here's why:

I. Atlasia is starting to have the feel of a baseball game where only one team gets a chance at the plate. The left has been in charge for quite awhile now and I think it's time for the Conservatives to get an opportunity to swing the bat. Maybe they'll strike out or maybe they'll hit a home run. But they should at least be given a chance.

II. Tmthforu has time and again demonstrated a commitment to this game and to reaching out to people of all political persuasions. Something that I believe is desperately needed at this time

III. I want the RPP to know that if they run Middle of the road Conservatives who have a history of reaching out to members of all parties that there will be liberals who support them. Otherwise why wouldn't they run candidates who were further to the right?

Lastly, for those on the left who are upset and angry with my decision all I can say is I'm sorry. I'm especially sorry to those on the left who are running for President and Vice President. I am not doing this to hurt you. I still consider you to be friends.

Thank you for your time.

BREAKING NEWS: LARGE EXPLOSION AT GTO HQ---TERRORISM SUSPECTED!

(AMPG-Nyman) A large explosion occurred moments ago at the Global Treaty Organization headquarters in downtown Nyman. Reporters were notified minutes beforehand that the building was being evacuated after receiving a bomb threat. Employees were seen rapidly fleeing the area moments before the blast. The scale of damage observed to the GTO building and grounds appears considerable. No information regarding casualties are available, though AMPG staff report some bystanders are injured and ambulances are arriving on scene.

More to follow as this story develops.

Due to this National tragedy I am ordering all Government offices in the Midwset closed immediately.

The thoughts and prayers of all Midwesterners are with those that have been hurt and their friends and family.

I was elected the last weekend of November so the next election for Prime Verin and Deputy Prime Verin are this weekend. I'll post a list of Midwest citizens later this week.

Last time I made a thread in the voting booth and others said we should have voted in the alphing. But this area seems to not get a lot of attention. Any thoughts?
