FF all the way, if he had defeated Bush way back when, the entire nation would've been better off. The country never would've polarized as it is now and neither The Clintons nor Bush Jr would've seen the light of day.

He was the last of the sort to campaign on actual issues rather than resort to some kind of wedge.

FF, but his campaign in 1988 was pathetic. At least Mondale and McGovern could be given the benefit of the doubt that they weren't going to win no matter what they did, can't say the same about Dukakis.

I feel like he was too nice for his own good. He fired John Sasso for being willing to campaign dirty, he didn't hit back against attacks on him, and he didn't attack Bush much.

That's what I mean. A great man, but didn't hit back at all, for all of Bill Clinton's faults, he at least clocked the GOP twice over.
