The Communist class should be scared now that Bloomberg is ready to fight for democracy and capitalism.

Please explain how Sanders is a communist. I hear the word tossed around a lot for him, but no one has been able to explain why.

Like, seriously, someone please explain to me how Bloomberg is trading at 13c on predict it and 7% on betfair.

What is his path to the democratic nomination??

No way in hell he gets young people, leftists, or black people.  That's the majority of the base right there.  I get why wine track white women would vote for him, why would latinos vote for him?  He buys $100m in ads of him speaking in Spanish?

Idiots placed bets.

What I fear is that he uses his unsuccessful primary run as a springboard to run as an independent in the general and we get four more years of Trump.

Bloomberg donated like 100,000,000 to democrats in 2018. He aint running third party.

He also held a fundraiser for Republican congressman Peter King in 2018, so I think we have reason to be wary of Bloomberg.

Mayor Stop-and-Frisk won't get the nomination, and if he does I'll wipe my ass with my ballot

I hope this is 4D chess and he jumps in the race attacking Biden so that Joe can contrast himself with a hated billionaire and appear progressive.

This is my honest guess as to the most likely way that Bloomberg could have an actual impact on the race. He certainly isn't going to win.

Another rich democratic liberal elitist running

He was the Republican Mayor of NY running as a continuation of Rudy Giuliani, then he was an Independent, now he's throwing money at Democrats.

This should show you he's not anything but an opportunist for himself.

Trump was also a rich Democratic liberal elitist...

So David Dinkins is the ONLY living NYC mayor who hasn't dabbled in the 2020 presidential election.

What exactly is the logic here? Democratic primary voters are growing disenchanted with the 76 year-old white, centrist front runner, so seizing on this perceived opening, the 77 year-old white, centrist man is going to try to fill the void?

Biden sucks at running for president yet none of the centrists have been able to capitalize on that. Might as well try a new face(Bloomberg logic).

What do you mean? That’s why Buttigieg is doing better now.

Better, but still at 7% nationally.

Best case scenario:

Bloomberg splits the "centrist" primary voters evenly with Biden, leaving room for Warren to come out ahead.

He's going to take votes from Warren's base (wealthy white people). It will help Sanders if anyone.

Under that logic, he'll hurt Mayor Pete the most.

Isn't he just making a Warren victory more likely?...Eh, I guess not. That would assume that he polls high enough to bring Biden down even more. He won't poll better than 1%.

As long as he doesn't run third party in the general election, I don't actually really care though. It's his time and money being wasted here. Is that really better than contributing some of that money in taxes under a policy that will never become reality, from a presidency that is far from guaranteed?

He's just turning himself into a convenient punching bag for Sanders and Warren. They can excite their core voters while risking little by attacking him.

I'm surprised at how negative the reception has been so far. Even the moderates I follow are having none of it.

Bloomberg was also a lifelong Democrat before running for mayor. Your phrasing makes it sound like Bloomberg started out as a Republican (which is false).

Wealth confiscation is a communist policy. "Billionaires shouldn't exist" is an endorsement of wealth confiscation.

That's not true at all. The college-educated white voters who like Warren aren't too fond of billionaires by definition. They won't ditch her for a billionaire.

I guess this would hurt Biden and Buttigieg the most

I said nothing false. If Bloomberg thought he could have more success running as a Republican tomorrow, he would. He is a shameless opportunist.

Stop and Frisk will be a major problem for him to contend with and will raise the police brutality conversation again, collaterally causing big problems for Buttigieg.
