Reagan could've handled it without a war.
You said Saddam would've abdicated power in the face of Reagan's threats. Do you really think that? Why?
Saddam would've formed a different government in an attempt to play games which would fail. Ultimately, a large coalition would've surrounded him and he would be led out with his hands up. I might have overdrawn my analysis, but Reagan would've built a coalition far greater than Bush did in 2003.
