Obviously. But it is the fault of the supposedly more levelheaded voices like Flake for not providing a credible alternative.

This doesn't get said enough.

For as bad as Trump is, the GOP establishment (Rubio, Kaisch, Jeb! etc.) were peddling Bush era nonsense that has been discredited.

It shouldn't be a surprise that the base took a flyer on Trump given these were their options.

Trump isn't a moderate or conservative. He is only political beliefs are what is best for Trump. If he was a true moderate he wouldn't have allowed Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell to control of his legislative agenda.
