I think such intricate connection to the Bush administration will still signify baggage come 2012.  Plus, I don't really see her as running strongly on any of the issues that the GOP can hope to take advantage of come 2012.  "Iraq turned out right in the end"?  I don't think credibility on the economy is her issue; I think relevance is.

She'd just be an incredibly weird choice unless the 2012 issue set is a lot different than we expect.

Yeah, I really didnt post this just to be an ass.  I mean her name was discussed in more than just passing for 08.

Sadly there are some talented "bushies" that will be forever scarred, and not always of their own doing.

Maybe she can pick Michael Strahan as her running mate.

Save Colin Powell, she's the most respected member of the Bush administration. I saw a poll once that showed her beating Obama in a national race (this was after Obama was considered a serious candidate). Not only that but she seems very well educated and intelligent.

See's a ghost.  She has kept so far out fo the public eye that most people have either forgotten her entirely or don't know much about her.  In other circles, she is seen as a pure Bush lackey, or, at best, an opportunist.

So maybe as a discrete running mate of someone like Romney.

She would be there only to be a Black, a woman, a foreign affairs specialist: just to avoid a Dem and medias campaign against a "rich and conservative WAS(not P)" candidate.

But, of course, having been a Bushie may still be a heavy weakness in 2012.

More than a modern neo-con, she's been trained as an old anti-communist, lost in a world she wasn't entirely able to understand, I think...
Sure, she wasn't opposed to Dubya in anything.
But was Powell more courageous ? He didn't resign...

I don't like her more than that, but she's not a Cheney or a Rumsfeld or an Armitage.

The political environment is going to be different come 2011. Whether or nor that means ex-Bush 43 cabinet members would lose any stigma is an interesting question.

Right, and no wish to run for office, knowing it's not where her talents lay.

Everyone thinks she's hot.

Right now, she has no experience running for office; he marital status doesn't help.
