Why can't Republicans ever unite around one candidate?
Ancient post, but because the Cali GOP is split between a handful of factions...Border Patrollers, Libertarians, Moderates, Chamber of Commerce...

And you could make the argument that every state party is split between several factions, but California is geographically and population-graphically (it's a word, shut up) much bigger than any other state, and the Cali GOP is much weaker than many other state parties.
