“Corzine, who has the New Jersey Business and Industry Association’s leaders’ endorsement for this year’s budget, got polite applause from the audience. But the reception for Christie was noticeably more enthusiastic. He got a more enthusiastic standing ovation before starting his speech and more applause and laughter in the middle of it.

Corzine was not there to hear Christie’s remarks, however. He left for an organized labor event in Atlantic City shortly after speaking.”

I'm loving these ads against Corzine. I saw two tonight and remember one of them starting off calling him "Wall Street Businessman Jon Corzine." Hilarious. Not sure if Christie's campaign put them out or if they're a product of some other group.

It's the RGA.

Okay, he'll be here in July. Let's see if he comes in October when it counts.

Per the Star-Ledger:

"Corzine's short list includes Sens. Barbara Buono of Middlesex and Loretta Weinberg of Bergen, and one of those "out of the box" contenders: Randal Pinkett, a Rutgers grad and Rhodes Scholar who was the Season 4 winner of the NBC reality show "The Apprentice."

Christie's short list is a bit longer: Sen. Diane Allen of Burlington; Assemblywoman Mary Pat Angelini of Monmouth; Assemblyman Jon Bramnick of Union; Bergen County Clerk Kathleen Donovan; and Monmouth County Sheriff Kim Guadagno."

All I have to say is...YAWN.

I'm just excited as to how the county map will look like.

If Christie wins, does he actually have a chance at winning Middlesex and Passaic counties?  Also, I'm assuming that he will win all of the southern NJ counties except Camden.

If Christie wins, in South Jersey he will most likely win Cape May, Atlantic, Salem, and Burlington. I think Corzine will probably carry Cumberland and Camden.

15. Jon Corzine's ads say Christopher Christie is too close to former President Bush. Is this a fair criticism of Christie or should Corzine focus on state issues?

Focus on Issues 77%
Fair Criticism 10%

Corzine released some sort of ad linking Christie with Mark Sanford, Bush, Cheney, Palin, Romney and Rudy Giuliani.

I'm surprised he didn't include Hoover while he was at it.

WTF???  Chris Christie has just released a statement in support of the confirmation of Sodomizer.  This is disgraceful and I am seriously considering changing my support to Daggett

Who cares? He doesn't have a vote, and she's going to be confirmed with 80+ votes anyway. And this guy has argued in front of judges many times, he knows what a qualified judge is.

And he also says SHE WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN HIS CHOICE. Stop being such a far-right nut.

Oh, I absolutely agree that this was really unnecessary. I think this just shows he has future ambitions beyond governor, but maybe that's just me. Smiley

Oh, and my point about being a "far-right nut" was his saying that he was switching to Daggett because of it, not because of calling Christie out. Wink

Looks like the Corzine pick for LG will be the relatively uncontroversial State Senator Barbara Buono (D-Middlesex). The official announce will come on Saturday.

Italian\Italian ticket vs. Dutch\Italian ticket

I know which side I'm rooting on.  Wink

Christie and Guadagno are Irish.

Is Jon Corzine thinking about listening to George Norcross and dropping his bid for re-election to a second term?  Former Morris County Prosecutor and gubernatorial candidate Michael Murphy says he spoke to the governor today and asked him that question.  Corzine's response: "No ing way.

Also Christie leads 50-33 among Hispanics. If he gets 50% of Hispanics, Corzine has NO shot.

Cape May is a Republican county. Bush and McCain both won Cape May so that is Christie Country anyway. Atlantic usually follows the statewide result(Obama won by 15 statewide and won Atlantic by 15), so that will go for Christie.
