This character looks like a pretty typical old-school blue-collar Massachusetts Democrat of the stock dating back to the days of Al Smith to me, somewhat socially moderate but very firmly pro-union and #populist . I have a hard time imagining that anyone fascinated by Zoroastrianism would be that right-leaning.
