Good start! :)
Some constructive critism: One poll had Illinois close early, but that is probably because many Obama supporters weren't voting Clinton. I guess they were trying to ruin her numbers to make Obama look better. Especially with Obama endorsing Clinton, she would be leading.
Pennyslvania would be an easy win for Clinton, and Washington wouldn't be for McCain. Neither would Hawaii.

pollster.com has a lot of old polls...43% Clinton in Hawaii to 39% McCain and that was in late February

Good so far, but I agree with everybody about Illinois, Washington, and Hawaii. I also doubt Minnesota would go for McCain. And I definitely don't see McCain leading by twelve points in Oregon.

August 26th - The second night of the DNC started off with a well received speech by South Dakota Senator Tom Daschle. The speech was followed by Delaware Senator Joe Biden and Virginia Governor Tim Kaine.

()

August 27th - Among other speakers tonight, clearly Vice Presidential candidate Barack Obamas was the most anticipated and watched.

"As we look on tonight, I see a new vision of change. We need to elect Hillary Clinton as our President and bring change to Washington, America and the world!"

()

August 28th - On the final night of this convention, Presidential Candidate Hillary Clinton Makes her address to the DNC.

"Today un-employment is at 5.8%. Next month it could be even higher and it could be you losing your job. Have you seen your economic situation get better over the past eight years? I didn't think so. We need to take the Republicans out of office and get our country out of this recession. John McCain isn't going to do that, and I am. Tonight at this Convention , I hope you make the right choice for President and even if your life is good now, think about others around you who could have it much worse off." ect...

()

August 29th - Republican candidate John McCain chooses Tennessee Senator Lamar Alexander for vice president, shcoking many liberal pudints.

September 1-3, 2008- The Start of the Republican National Convention  involved speeches by Cindy McCain, and Laura Bush.Speeches by President Bush and Joe Lieberman were canceled due to Hurricane Gustav. The following day, many keynote speeches were made by keynote speakers such as Fred Thompson, Rudy Giuliani, and Mitt Romney. On September 3rd, the most watched speech was made by republican vice presidential candidate Lamar Alexander from Tennessee. Manor pundints were shocked by McCains pick. Alexander swept the floor tonight, speaking of how our economy is not as bad as the democratic opponents say and that our two wars are necessary to combat major criminals in our world.
()

September 3rd- Unemployment is at 6.1%, up .3% from last month.

September 4th- On the last night of te Republican national convention, after several other speeches republican nominee John McCain spoke and accepted his nomination.
"Thank you all very much. Tonight, I have a privilege given few Americans — the privilege of accepting our party’s nomination for President of the United States. And I accept it with gratitude, humility and confidence. In my life, no success has come without a good fight, and this nomination wasn’t any different. That’s a tribute to the candidates who opposed me and their supporters. They’re leaders of great ability, who love our country, and wished to lead it to better days. Their support is an honor I won’t forget. I’m grateful to the President for leading us in those dark days following the worst attack on American soil in our history, and keeping us safe from another attack many thought was inevitable; and to the First Lady, Laura Bush, a model of grace and kindness in public and in private. And I’m grateful to the 41st President and his bride of 63 years, and for their outstanding example of honorable service to our country."

September 7th- Several days after the end of both major party conventions, Senator Clinton airs an aid attacking the McCain campaign for not acknowledging the financial crisis and the 6.1% unemployement.

September 15th, 2008- The country is shocked by the bancrupcy of Lehman brothers. On August 20, John McCain said in an interview with Politico that he was uncertain how many houses he and his wife, Cindy, owned; "I think — I'll have my staff get to you." Both on the stump and in Obama's political ad, "Seven", the gaffe was used to portray McCain as unable to relate to the concerns of ordinary Americans. This out-of-touch image was further cultivated when, on September 15, the day of the Lehman Brothers bankruptcy, at a morning rally in Jacksonville, Florida, McCain declared that "the fundamentals of our economy are strong," despite what he described as "tremendous turmoil in our financial markets and Wall Street." With the perception among voters to the contrary, the comment appeared to cost McCain politically.

()

September 20th- Lehman Brothers file for bankrupcy.

September 24th- 4 days after the Lehman Brothers collapse, both Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton and Republican nominee John McCain suspend their campaigns and head to Capitol Hill to help craft a $700 billion bailout package for the troubled financial industry. Whether or not the first debate schedualed for the 26th wil take place, is currently unknown.

September 26th 2008- After much speculation over whether the debate would occur, both John McCain and Hillary Clinton arrived at the University of Mississippi. Although the debate was planned to focus on foreign policy and national security, Jim Lehrer did devote the first half of the debate to the financial crisis. Over the course of the first half of the debate, Clinton easily blew McCain away on the financial crisis and hitting on key points such as unemployment, and that McCain had no plan for our failing economy until two days ago. After the talks of economics, McCain was able to bring the debate to somewhat of a standstill.

October 2nd- The 2008 Vice Presidential Debate was held today at washington University. The questions varied on all topics, but in all Alexander hit at how little experiance Obama had, being only two years in the senate and in national government politics. Although Obama swept the floor with Alexander on the economy, like Clinton did with McCain, Alexander was able to hit Obama with many other issues such as family values, and education.

October 15th- Thr third and final Presidential debate was held at Hofstra University in Hempsted, New York. With there having been a month since the financial meltdown began, McCain was able to somewhat keep up with Clinton on the economy. Clinton promiseed that if she became president, that by the end of her term the millions of newly unemployed people would have there jobs back and would no longer live in fear. McCain was viewed in this debate as out-of-touch with the American people on this major subject as he continuesly focused on how to bailout Wall Street and major companies, while making little referance to the average American. On Foreign Policy, McCain was able to win some ground with his plan to have a 30,000 troop surge in Afghanistan and promise the Osama Bin Laden will be a captive of the US government by the end of his first term. Clinton meanwhile spent more time focusing on withdrawing troops in Iraq.

October 18, 2008- Following all the debates, and Clinton's rising numbers, Senator McCain has been campaigning harder than ever. Senator Alexander has been in Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, and Missouri over the course of the past three days. Senator McCain has planned a trip across the country for the next ten days, visiting five different states each day.

()

October 21st- Visiting Pennsylvania today, Vice Presidential candidate Alexander blasted Clinton on education, saying that she did not have enough experience to help Americas failing schools.

()

October 22nd- Senator Clinton sent Senator Obama to respond to Alexanders criticism.

"I'm sorry Senator Alexander, but this isn't 1993. You haven't been in the education field in 15 years, what could you possibly know about our school systems today?

()

October 24th- Obama's comment was met by wide criticism by Republicans an independents. Although since we are in a recession, the comment was largely brushed off to focus on what people cared about the most--the economy.

()

October 29th- Following his 50 state trip, Senator McCain has returned with a new economic plan to cut taxes and earmark spending as well as help bailout several major companies, that he vows will go to the house as soon as he becomes President. An unnamed source claims that McCain does not plan to go through with his plan, and it is only a last ditch effort to defeat Clinton.

()

November 1st- Now in the days before the election, the Clinton has decided that due to poll numbers, they don't need to campaign anymore as the winner is already sealed.

"Goodbye Ohio, next time I see you it will be as President-elect of the United States." Clinton said in her last speech.

()

November 2nd- Unemployment at 6.6%

November 3rd, 2008- The day before the election, McCain's chances look grim as he heads to his last campaign stop in Richmond, Virginia.

November 4th, 11:30 PM- Following the announcement that Senator Clinton is now President-elect Clinton, Senator McCain has made his concession speech at the Biltmore Hotel.

"Thank you. Thank you, my friends. Thank you for coming here on this beautiful Arizona evening. My friends, we have — we have come to the end of a long journey. The American people have spoken, and they have spoken clearly. A little while ago, I had the honour of calling Senator Hillary Clinton to congratulate her. To congratulate her on being elected the next president of the country that we both love. In a contest as long and difficult as this campaign has been, her success alone commands my respect for her ability and perseverance. But that she managed to do so by inspiring the hopes of so many millions of Americans who had once wrongly believed that they had little at stake or little influence in the election of an American president is something I deeply admire and commend her for achieving. I urge all Americans ... I urge all Americans who supported me to join me in not just congratulating her, but offering our next president our good will and earnest effort to find ways to come together to find the necessary compromises to bridge our differences and help restore our prosperity, defend our security in a dangerous world, and leave our children and grandchildren a stronger, better country than we inherited. Whatever our differences, we are fellow Americans. And please believe me when I say no association has ever meant more to me than that. It is natural. It's natural, tonight, to feel some disappointment. But tomorrow, we must move beyond it and work together to get our country moving again. We fought — we fought as hard as we could. And though we feel short, the failure is mine, not yours."

()

12:00 AM, November 5th- Following McCain's Concession, President-elect Clinton has made her victory speech at her home in Chappaqua, New York.

"For everyone here across America who's ever been counted out but refused to be knocked out, and for everyone who has stumbled but stood right back up, and for everyone who works hard and never gives up, this one is for you. Tonight is not our victory. Our Victory is when every American has health care. When the economy is not in shambles. When do not have thousands of troops in two different country. Our victory is when every American has the peace and prosperity they deserve!"

December 27th, 2008- At 11:30 AM, Israel launched an airstrike on the Gaza strip including 60 jets heading for 60 targets. It is said that Israel has been planning this for six months, and it is due to constant Missles going into Israel from militant groups such as Hamas that reside in the Gaza Strip.

()

December 29th- Israel launched a naval attack on the strip, including an attack on the ship Dignity that held a CNN reporter and former US Representative Cynthia McKinney.

January 3rd- Israel launches a ground invasion of the Gaza strip, and a blockade of the strip, preventing any food or supplies from entering.

()

January 4th, 2009- Unemployment at 7.4%.

January 18th- Israel implemented a unilateral ceasefire early Sunday and in announcing the ceasefire late Saturday, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said Israel had achieved its goals and more, stating that "Hamas was hit hard, in its military arms and in its government institutions. Its leaders are in hiding and many of its men have been killed." According to Olmert's statement, the ceasefire went into effect at 2 a.m. local time with the IDF warning that attacks on soldiers or civilians "will be met with a harsh response." If Hamas holds its fire, the military "will weigh pulling out of Gaza at a time that befits us," Olmert said. If not, Israel "will continue to act to defend our residents."

()

January 19th- The day before inauguration day, President Elect Clinton announces the final two members of her cabinet.

President Clinton shocked many when she announced that she has chosen Mitt Romney as the Secretary of Health and Human Services. This is the one choice, that nobody expected.

If Obama won Colorado by 8% (I believe), Hillary would have won it. I don't see 4% of Colorado voters (who voted for Obama) deciding to vote for McCain if Hillary was the nominee, especially after the financial crisis.

I was going to say that late but, since Obama didnt become president Blagojevich never sold his seat, so he stayed governor. Then he paid off the other democrats to not run in the primaries. Even if he wasnt the nominee, the republican would have won there anyway.

May 16th, 2012- Even though Pawlenty and Santorum won an even amount of states last night, Pawlenty won a huge delegate majority and spread his delegate lead even further. Ever since the sixth debate, Pawlenty has been riding new momentum to big victories in some big states. The next primaries are in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, and Georgia on June 5th.

()

May 20th- While just beginning a troop withdrawl plan from Afghanistan, the Taliban has been remounting, and Osama Bin Laden is still on the loose. Violence has been rising, and Republicans have been debating to end the withdrawl plan.

()

May 27th- During the seventh republican primary debate, Pawlenty and Santorum fought evenly, both appealing to their own secters of the party.

()

June 1st- Unemployment at 8.9%

June 4th- On the eve of the next primaries, Santorum pushes to win in Ohio, Georgia, and of course his home state Pennsylvania. Ohio has recently become a tossup due to Pawlenty's rising momentum, and Santorum's super conservativeness.

()

June 5th-
Pennsylvania
()
Santorum 62.4%
Pawlenty 37.6%

Ohio

Santorum 38.8%

Illinois
()
Pawlenty 63.7%
Santorum 36.3%

Georgia
()

Pawlenty 48.4%

June 6th- While Pawlenty did win big last night, it was not enough, with primaries in New York on the 12th, and in Florida on the 19th Pawlenty would have to win approximately 80% of the vote in the rest of the primaries to win the nomination. The race drags on.

()

June 10th- With odds against him in New York, Santorum has decided to spend the last few days of the campaign in Florida to try and appeal to the jewish vote, and win back support he lost there when Pataki endorsed Pawlenty.

()

June 11th- A poll by Gallup is released.

Republican Nomination
Pawlenty 51%
Santorum 41%
Undecided 8%

June 12th-
New York
()
Pawlenty 67.1%
Santorum 32.9%

June 14th- Now 103 delegates down from the magic number, Pawlenty would have to win 90% of the vote in Florida to win the nomination. The race can officially declared a wild fire.

()

June 18th- One day away from the most important night in this election so far, Pawlenty is hoping to win as big as possible. Santorum has not even been seeking to win, just do as well as possible.

()

June 19th-
Florida
()
Pawlenty 56.9%
Santorum 43.1%

June 20th- Chaos struck last night, as the primaries have ended and no candidate has a majority of the vote. Pawlenty is down 54 delegates, and nobody knows who will win. The race could be desided any minute.

()

June 21st- We are now able to confirm that former presidential candidate Newt Gingrich will donate all of his delegates to Rick Santorum. Neither candidate yet has a majority of the votes.

Out of curiousity, how are you going to get the timeline to 2048? By 2048, most, if not all, of the politicians we know today won't be in the political scene, and new politicians that we don't know from out of nowhere will be prominent. Are you going to make up characters? Are you going to use the children of current politicians, like I don't know, George P. Bush or something? Just wondering.

August 20th, 2012- The 2012 Democratic National Convention began tonight with speeches from several Governors and Senators.

()

August 22nd- As with the past two conventions, the major speaker of the third night was Barack Obama. The vice president spoke about President Clinton's acheivments, and how no president since Johnson has been able to pass a Health Care bill, so there is no reason to place the blame on her.

()

August 23rd- On the final night of the convention, President Clinton spoke.

"We have come long and hard over the past few years. Our administration has seen it's ups and downs over the past few years, as have many others. One of the biggest problems my Health Care plan faced was that the Republicans refused to place more than one vote for the Bill. There bickering is still very much present, as they have two different nominees for President. The recession is over, and unemployment has been going down. We are withdraing troops from Afghanistan, and most are out from Iraq. What more could a President do in four years? What I ask for is more time.

Septemebr 8th, 2012- While choosing Governor Palin as his vice presidential candidate, Paul has recieved a temporary bump among deep conservatives. Unfortunately for him, his support seems to have hit a wall at elevan percent, with not a single poll with him above that number.

()

September 15th- Governor Pawlenty launched an attack ad against Paul today, urging him to drop out of the race since he is only making it harder for a Republican Candidate to win in November.

()

September 21st- Five days before the first General Election debate, President Clinton appeared with Russ Feingold in several funraising events across Wisconsin and Iowa.

()

September 25th- Many Ron Paul supporters protested today, upon news that Ron Paul would not be able to attend the debate due to lack of support in the polls.

()

September 26th- During the first debate, the topic of the night was the economy. Pawlenty continuestly attacked the President on staid unemployment numbers, and for the fact that she has been in office for four years long enough to deal with these problems. President Clinton responded to these attacks by talking about the benefits of her several bailout plans, and her energy jobs bill.

()

October 1st- Unemployment at 8.5%

October 2nd- Tonight was the night of the first and last vice presidential debate. Vice President Obama, and Governor Jindal traded even blows with eachother tonight on topics ranging from Afghanistan to Cap-and-Trade.

()

October 7th- Suring the second Presidential debate, the topic of the night was foriegn policy. President Clinton attacked Pawlenty on the republican party's stance on the Israeli conflict and Afghanistan. Paul won't win, but he can stop Clinton or Pawlenty from reaching 270. At this point, I don't know what's going to happen, though that is a possibility

Ya, that's the best Paul can do, because Clinton and Pawlently have more than 270 electoral votes combined. Paul could however, carry Alaska.

Interesting, indeed.

Here's a thought; give Pawlenty FL and Clinton PA (letting the states fall towards their natural political leanings), and then toss WI to Pawlenty (regional pride or something like that) and CO to Clinton (she and Obama motivate Hispanics to carry the state) so we can have a 268-267 situation with Paul holding the balance of power in the Electoral College.

Hmmm, who would Paul support?  What's his asking price?

5:00 AM November 7th. 2012- Governor Pawlenty appeared to concede this morning in Minneapolis.

"I came here tonight to congratulate President Clinton on her victory. It has been a long grueling battle, and athough we lost, I, and I hope my supporters accept our defeat. If it is what America thinks is right, then this must be what is right for our country. I called President Clinton earlier to congratulate her on victory. We did however, win both houses tonight...

*Applous*

...And now it is time for both parties to unite and fight our problems togethor. Good night, and god bless America!"

()

6:00 AM, November 7th- The President thanks supporters on the White House Lawn,

"This night, four years ago I was elected President of the United States. And tonight, I'm gonna be kept in office for another four years! We can now continue to put our country in the path of progress! We can make this country and better place , and this world along with it!...

...Thank you America, and Good Night!"

()

CNN can now confirm that Ron Paul refuses to concede, and demands a recount because he believes the election was rigged.

November 2012- Following President Clinton's reelection, the President has not yet announced any changes to his cabinet. with The GOP taking both the Senate, and the House, new Speakers have been chosen this month to fill in the positions of Ron Wyden, and Nancy Pelosi. Eric Cantor (R-VA) will be the New Speaker of the House. Mitch McConnell will be the new Senate Majority Leader. Senator Wyden walked home today with a solemn face, having a record short reign of two years. The White House has been kept safe so far with no major news out of Afghanistan, or Pakistan.

()

December 2012- With new unemployment numbers at 8.5%, President Clinton made a speech in Cleveland early this month, tauting the administration's progress on the nation's economy. Secretaries Kaine, and Gibbs announced a flight to Pakistan on the 12th.

()

During the trip to Pakistan, chaos occured. On December 19th, a helicopter was shot down by the Taliban that contained, Kaine, Gates, and Pakistani President Zardari. Kaine and Gates have been retrieved from the wreckage safely, but the Zardari appears to have passed.

()

Once returning to Washington, Secratery Gates had and immediate meeting with the President urging her to ignore the islamic country's protests and to take military action in Pakistan. Following the meeting, on the 23rd, President Clinton announced that she will replace Gates with former Senator Bill Nelson. Prime Minister Gillani will take Zardari's place.

Anyway...

January 2013- With finally having all troops out of Iraq after ten long years, the President made a victory speech today in Baghdad. President Clinton stayed in Iraq until the 18th, talking with the Iraqi's Leaders, and overseeing Iraqi civilians help rebuild the country without American soldiers watching them. It was a grand day for the Iraqi people, and the Democratic Party. On the twentieth, President Clinton was re-inaugurated on Capital Hill with cheers from all across America. Nothing had been heard of yet from the missing explosives in Pakistan. Unemployment reached 8.2% this month. All was good.

()

February 2013- Unemployment stood still at 8.2% this month. Terror struck oversea's again, although not from Al Qaeda or the Taliban. Iran announces plans on the tenth to launch a ground invasion of Iraq. By the end of the month, 50,000 Persian troops were on the ground. The President and the UN, have had strongly condemned and sanctioned Iran for it's acts. Washington is furious.

()

March 2013- Unemployment raised to 8.3% this month. Following Iran's actions, North Korea has sent 25,000 of it's own troops into the South. South Korea is strongly fighting back, and the Associated Press can now confirm the South Korea has received military reinforcements from Japan. President Clinton confirmed on the 21st that The US will deploy 10,000 troops to South Kore to help out. While having her Approval Rating brought down form the two foreign invasion's, she still seems to have a bump from the ende of the Iraq war.

April 2013- Unemployment dropped to 8.1% this month. The White House has not yet announced any military plans for North Korea, or Iran, and has instead decided to focus on economic issues. Democrats in the house have begun debating a bill to legalize marijuana this month, along with plans to develop a progessive tax. Israel launched several airstikes on Tehran later in the month.

2013- Throughout the rest of the year, recovery from the recession remained sluggish leaving off at 7% in December. In October, Iran ended it's combat mission in Iraq after strong intervention by the UN. The war in Korea continues, athough briefly stalled due to the transition of power between Kim Jong Il, and his son. Both democratic bills failed, after being blocked by the newly republican congress. Republicans kept the Virginia Governor's race, while Democrats won in New Jersey when Christie declined to run for a second term.

2014- In the Korean War, the South has begun to gain an upperhand, and now has less than half the casualties of the north. In other news this year, Steve Jobs died of cancer, along with JOhn McCain, and former President Jimmy Carter. The main headlines of the year were the incredibly close midterms. The Republicans kept the House.

He will come back into play very shortly. Not an heir apparent, but he'll be there. ;)

Given what Romney does in this timeline, I probably wouldn't be a Romney supporter, however, it's still interesting to see him take a different course in the post-2008 political world.  He's probably much more openly liberal after healthcare, though.

January 1, 2015- On the first of the year, Mitt Romney made headlines when announces that hew would run for president in 2016 in front of a crowd in Boston. The Governor said that he had made a great mistake when he had joined President Clinton's cabinet and he deeply hopes that the Republican party can accept his apology.

()
(Now just imagine him and everybody else slightly greyer and older)

January 7, 2015- Following the field being officially opened six days earlier, Rick Santorum announces that he will too make a bid for the presidency. This is Santorum's second run for the presidency, losing to fellow republican Tim Pawlenty three years ago.

()

January 15, 2015- The RNC and DNC both announced today that the primary scheduling will all coincide, and that with a new revised calender the first states will consist of Colorado, New Jersey, Illinois, and Virginia.

(
)

January 17, 2015- Just two days after the calender revision, vice President Obama announced that he will be running to replace President Clinton with whom he has worked with for the past seven years. Obama is the first democrats to announce his candidacy.

()

January 25, 2015- Another candidate made an entry to the republican primary today with former tea party vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin. Ever since her campaign in 2012, Sarah has become a political icon thought stupid by most.

()

January 29, 2015- First-Term Florida Senator Marco Rubio announced that he will be the fourth Republican running this year. Many pundits are suprised that most speculated candidates have declined to announce their intentions yet. (ex. Pawlenty, Daniels, Jindal, Warner etc)

()

Republicans
Santorum 36.4%
Romney 24.8%
Palin 20.8%
Rubio 2.3%

Generic Ballot: Democrats 45%, Republicans 40%

With regards to Rubio, why is he listed as GOP when he's one of the Tea Party darlings as are Rand Paul, Mike Pence, Ron Paul, Jim DeMint etc.

Second, Daniels would not attack Pence if anything Daniels would be a possible ambassador between the GOP and the Tea Party.

Thirdly, Santorum would beat Pawlenty in 2012. After losing to the Dems with a moderate in 2008, the GOP would logically go with a dye in the wool conservative.

Still a well done tl.

About the Tea Party, I think that the Tea Party as an official party wasn't really meant by its supporters to officially seperate from the Republicans, but more to be like John Anderson's 1980 run, not TR's 1912 run.

Given the previous candidates, I'd go for Daniels because:
He's been a two term Governor (unlike Rubio, Santorum, and Paul)
He's not a closet Liberal (Romney in this one, possibly in real life)
He hasn't been the party nominee before (Pawlenty)
He's not perceived as an idiot (Palin)

By the way, what happened to Mike Pence and Lou Dobbs?

Mike Pence is mulling over a bid for the Governors office.
Lou Dobbs moved to Fox News.

I think I remember seeing an Independent gain on the 2012 Senate map in New Jersey.

That could've been someone else, like Kal Penn, from Harold and Kumar. He currently serves as Obama's youth outreach czar, or some sh*t like that. Not necessarily Dobbs.

Just a heads up, if 150 days have passed, it is better not to bump things like this;).

Probably a sock considering the name. I don't recall who, but here was one person who was banned with a name somewhat like "electoraljew"

Anyways I would be glad to take up this timeline, though I'd need to re-read it to see it's trajectory.
