Title: How many countries have you met people from? Post by: platypeanArchcow on October 25, 2009, 02:44:58 AM I started counting, and was sort of impressed with myself when the total got to 51. If you only include people I've talked to more than once or twice, it goes down to 42. I'm sort of wondering where I fit in here.

Chile: Went there, loved it. Lots of Chileans over here, too. Peru: A few here and a few there. Colombia: First 'boyfriend' Panama: On South America trip Mexico: Few here, few in South America. Haiti: Girl at Johns, at uni. Jamaica: Girl at primary school USA: Lots. You guys suck. Canada: Slightly less. You guys are awesome. Africa, 14: South Africa: Australia is crawling with them. Zimbabwe: And there are a few of these guys too, but most of them say they're 'Rhodesian'. Kenya: Ex-Housemate Uganda: ANU African Student's Society. I helped with their initial set-up. Ethiopia: As above Djibouti: As above Botswana: As above Ghana: As above Mozambique: As above, plus tutorials Madagascar: As above, plus tutorials Somalia: Various people around the traps Egypt: Kid at primary school Sudan: At RYLA, plus Taxis drivers and things. Mauritius: Quite a few in Australia ...plus there were others but I'm not 100% sure what countries they were from. I think Nigeria, Liberia, Swaziland and Mali were in the mix. I was gonna say, once you start getting over 120 countries in the biz, you start hitting people like Andorrans, and they are Freaks with a capital F in the sack. Well the question was met. I haven't traveled as much as I would like but still have probably been to 20 countries. I took a blank map of the world and started filling it in. Even then, I later remembered I missed Moldova and Belarus, so I'm up to 53. Edit: and Thailand -- 54. Also there are many people who I have met who are clearly not native English speakers where I don't know where they are from.
Anyway the answer is loads. I wouldn't even know where to start guessing - especially considering that in my case alot of these people I would have met when I was alot younger. Not sure i reach more than 100 (i don't even remember everyone i met in my 12 years of so of travels) but certainly more than 50.
