Title: A TL idea
Post by: justW353 on May 16, 2010, 11:48:51 PM
I most likely will start this project sometime around Memorial Day if it is well-received.

I'm not gonna do a fancy introduction here, but I just want to know:

What do you guys think of a TL involving Thomas Jefferson winning the Presidential Election in 1796 that would continue to modern times?  It would be written in history book format.  Obviously the anti-Federalists winning in 1796 would case some major ripples for today's society, so what do you think?

Would be interesting, but it would be extraordinarily hard to complete. Keep in mind, the longest completed timeline on the forum in terms of years is Benconstine's, and that to about ten months for him. :)

It's an ambitious idea...It would basically be rewriting the entire history of the United States.  However, this wouldn't be a one month idea or like my old TLs.  It would be in the form of a history book about the United States.  It would probably take at least six months to reach modern day.

I probably wouldn't actually start it until sometime in June.

I tried writing a TL, 1888 to present day with detailed years. I got to 1910 and lost all strength. :P

I was actually thinking about what would happen if Jefferson won in 1796, lately.  You'd only have to flip one electoral district in Virginia and North Carolina, which ITTL voted for Adams.
