His last realistic chance would have been this year had Gore won in 2000.

Have you ever noticed that while in office, Presidents age quite rapidly, but once they're out of office, their aging process seems to slow down dramatically. Even four years has aged Bush quite a bit, but I'd never guess that his father is 80. Carter does look old, though, but Ford looks great for being 90+. He may not even be around by 2008.
