Oh, right. I'd blissfully forgotten of his existence for the last several months.

I'm trying to find some silver lining for Ellsworth, a promising politician, in this year's run.

The hilarious part is that Ellsworth would have had a fair shot at re-election had he not been an idiot. So not only does he get crushed in a Senate election, he - almost certainly - costs his party another House seat. Maybe he should think of a different career to politics.

Rebecca Sink-Burris is doing surprisingly well in the polls, garnering 5% here. I honestly believe she could reach high single digits on election night, which would be a huge accomplishment for the Libertarian Party. Unlike many of their candidates, she isn't a bad debator, especially compared to her opponents.

He knew redistricting was coming and the Dems that would have survived in 2010 would have much more vulnerable in 2011 redistricting map that's why he retired from his district.

Back in February I thought Ellsworth was committing suicide by giving up a llikely re-election.  Seems like that was the right idea.  Still, how do you think Mike Pence feels.  He could have become Senator for life and had high profile DeMint-like position to argue for his beliefs.  Now, he's just another face in the House.  I know he's in leadership, but the Senate is where the action has always been.
